What is ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE ?
●Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and
the branch of computer science.
●The study and design of intelligent agent.
●Problem solving.
●The ability of a computer or other machine to perform those
activities that are normally thought to require intelligence.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
●A system that makes it possible for a machine to perform
functions similar to human intelligence.
How does Artificial Intelligence
work?
●Programming
●Planning[programs start with general facts about the world ]
●Special equipment with latest sensor technology.
History of artificial intelligence
●1950s:computers were solving word problems in algebra,
proving logical theorems and speaking English.
●Early 80s: Received commercial success in computers
●90s and Early 21st
century: Achieved greatest successes
Intelligence of machines today
●The main focus in AI today is getting a computer to recognize,
make senses and recreate in what it sees and hears.
●Acting according to us.
●Recognizing a face.
●Navigating a busy street.
●Understanding what someone says.
Problems of Artificial
intelligence
●The problems intelligence of creating intelligence has been
broken down into a number of problems
Deduction, reasoning, problem
solving
●AI Researchers developed algorithms that limited the step-by-
step reasoning that human beings use when they solve puzzles,
play board games or make logical deductions.
Knowledge Representation
●Many of the problems of machines are expected to solve so they
require extensive knowledge about this world.
Planning
●A machine cannot plan by itself or make the choices of
their own
●Default reasoning and the qualification problem. Many of the
things machines do not know to take the form of "working
assumptions."
Advantages
●Reduces human efforts
●No extra machinery
●fast
●Quick access to your computing world
●Acts according to your programs
●Able to handle such tasks as object manipulation and
navigation, localization, mapping and motion planning.
Artificial Intelligent
Car[VOLKSWAGON]
Disadvantages
●Anti-logic" or "scruffy“
●Impossible to create large memory system in your machinery
●Requires high quality machinery and sensors
●No creative thoughts like humans
Who uses Artificial Intelligence?
●Medicines
●Police
●Gaming
●Military
●Automobiles
●World class universities
Future
●artificial intelligence have the capability to solve that are
unsolved by human beings.
●capable of creating a new world
