Almost everyone have a smart phone these days and the whole world is going crazy over this
gadget and I am not an exception in this .Yes. Smart phone is my favorite technology product. These
smart phones have completely changed the way people interact. Besides making phone calls, smart
phones today can provide directions through GPS, capture pictures, play music, allows us to read and
edit documents on the go and through installation of apps the usage of smart phones has grown
tremendously in such a way that smart phones has become part and parcel of many people’s lives.
Leaving home without your phone is like leaving home without your shoes on. Clearly, the mobile
phone is one of the phenomenal inventions of this age.
Do you know why it my favorite product?
Smartphones are changing the lives of everyone in today’s society always consider
smartphones as an icon of style and will be seeking all the possible ways to upgrade myself with
the latest smartphone that hits the market. It is nearly impossible to go out in public without
seeing someone tapping away at a smartphone. Though a part of the society highlights the risks of
those gadgets , it seem to have more benefits than risks and this has been proven by their rise in
popularity and increasing saturation of the consumer market in recent years.
If you don’t have a smartphone, or haven’t
purchased one within the past 2 years, you
might be surprised at the features
smartphones offer to positively enhance
your daily routine
The metamorphosis of the cell phone into a mobile computing platform with voice
capabilities is epitomized by the smartphone that is not only popular among the general public but
seemingly ubiquitous among professionals, businessmen, students, scientists etc. because
of the dizzying array of software applications, or apps that could be installed at a touch of
the screen.
Some of the features that makes a smartphone smart:
There are no standard features that can completely define a smartphone because what
constitutes a smartphone today may change by next week, next month, or next year but there
are certain benefits that always keep smartphones in the limelight
Now let me tell why I feel smartphones are always smart
It keeps my life organized: In today’s fast-paced society, life’s many joys and obligations can
become a bit overwhelming for even the most energetic person. Fortunately, smartphones can
serve as a pocket-sized personal assistant and I can use my smartphone to book movie tickets, find
restaurants, to coordinate grocery lists and even pay bills from the phone’s web browser
Information at fingertips: Increased connectivity is a major advantage of owning a
smartphone, allowing for immediate access to data online, whether I am at home, travelling,
or at work.I can get any information that I need just like that .
Flexible Working: I can take notes, produce presentations and have business meetings all from
one device. No more dragging around a laptop. I can connect Bluetooth keyboards to my
smartphone and turn that into a portable PC. Smartphones keep professionals life organized
with their linked calendars and planners courtesy of their advanced operating systems.
Never out of touch: Old cell phones can call and text but smartphones allows me to
communicate in multiple ways. They not only allow me to call, text and IM but also allows me
to make a video call and video conferencing. I can also remain connected through social
networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Better information sharing: All cell phones can send and receive text messages, but what sets
a smartphone apart is its handling of email, quick and easy transfer of media files. It helps me
to sync
Greater functionality: Smartphones, are proverbial extensions of our bodies, they will be able
to accomplish everything that pen and paper could do, and more. As a bonus, it can be
backed up in multiple locations in case you misplace your phone
Faster Communication: Most of the smartphones can access the web at higher speeds, thanks
to the growth of 3G and 4G data networks as well as the addition of Wi-Fi support to many
handsets. This feature is something that I desperately need to to browse my favorite sites.
Endless Applications: The early twenty-first century brought hundreds of thousands of
smartphone apps. Beyond the tons of games and productivity apps available, there are
applications like the health and fitness apps that tracks the miles you've run, the calories I
have consumed and even my current heart rate and there are many other interesting apps
that are still blooming.
This modern technology is predicted to advance with time. For now, I can see that
these phones are fulfilling their mission to increase efficiency in people’s lives.
How to convincve your parents to get you a
smartphone
We all know that cellular technology has evolved tremendously over the past decade
or so. Having a smartphone or cellphone has become a basic necessity in our daily lives.
Asking my parents to purchase a smartphone for me is a big request. Furthermore she might
have legitimate concerns about my ability to use it responsibly, but with the right facts and
details I can convince my parents that I need a smartphone and that I am responsible enough
to use one. I should start the conversation with my parents in a strategic way in order to up
my chances of having my request granted.
Letting my parents know that I can use the smartphone safely
Step 1: Showing that I will be a responsible smartphone user
Before making my request, I should have established a reputation with them of being
responsible and trustworthy. I have to do little homework for that...Ha-ha .Yes in order to
gain trust of my parents I should take care of current gadgets (videogames, music system
etc.) and other expensive accessories (watches, jewels etc.) that she has already gifted me
Step 2: Preparing for my meeting
 Research: Before making a proposal, I should do some research on my own about the
current costs of smartphone 

 Sticking to a budget: By following a budget, I am showing her that I am disciplined
and focused. I am also trying to prove that I will soon be in a better position to be able
to show her that I can afford to help out with the costs of having a smartphone and
data plan. 
Step 3: Asking my parents to sit down with me
I should choose the right time and place to have this conversation with my parents. I want to
convince her of my seriousness, and I want to up my chances of getting a positive answer.
Step 4: Making my pitch
Once when she agrees to sit down with me, I should explain her how useful it can be
 Listing the pros and cons of having a smartphone: I will try to explain the
advantages of owning a smartphone and I will also list down the cons of the same
assuming that the likelihood of me receiving a phone that I actually want will increase
exponentially. ;) 


 Explaining how I will use the smartphone: I will explaining my parents about all
the useful features of smartphone by telling her that I’ll will be having all information
at my fingertips with the help of as free dictionary and encyclopedia apps and also
provides easy access to your class websites. 


 Letting my parents know that I will be careful when I am online: I will be telling my
parents that it would be smart to have a smartphone at emergency situations, staying
in touch with friends and I will tell her how I will responsibly take care of an electronic
device. She will presume my demonstrating signs of maturity. I will also let her know
that I will not use your my smartphone in a wrong way. 
 Making Promises: 


Promising that I will not sleep with my smartphone: I will give her the


assurance that I will turn my phone off at night and leave it in a separate room.


While the smartphone does have a built-in alarm, I can get by with an old-
fashioned clock.




Promising that I will not get addicted to it: She might worry thinking that I


might spend too much time glued to my phone, sending and responding to texts


from friends. She might think that I will stay less connected to the family, and
this could possibly hurt my communication skills. Let my parents know that I
am willing to put down the phone during dinner and also when the whole family
plans to hang out together, and I will also let her know that you will not text
when it's time to study.

Showing my parents that I can responsibly use the Smartphone
Step 5: Letting my parents know how grateful I will be
After making my pitch, I should try something else to please her. Yes, I will be
making a statement like this “I know that I'm asking for a lot, and that I'm asking you
to trust me. If you're willing to give me a chance, I won't let you down, and I'll be
super grateful.” D: D and also I will also tell her that incase if they don’t think I am
responsible enough they can take it away from
Step 6: Finding different sources
I will be suggesting her to go to different family members like parents, aunts,
cousins, to get ideas and suggestions before getting me a smartphone
Step 7: Giving time to think it over.
Now I should give her time to think and discuss it together privately, and
demanding an immediate answer won't help my case. I will let her know that I’m
willing to wait for her answer
After two days ……
Me: WOW……my parents agreed to get me a smartphone ….Now it’s
my responsibility to keep up all the promises that I made to my
parents to get a smartphone.
