TOGETHER, IN HARMONY!
ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT
In May, we enjoyed the second learning/teaching/training activity,
hosted by KLAIPEDOS VITES PROGIMNAZIJA from Klaipeda, Lithuania.
These activities took place under the title HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, bringing
together students and staff teachers from the host unit and from each partner
institution. From Spain, there were 2 teachers (Serafín Cabañas and Lara
Villarmea) and 4 students (Raúl Mircea, Marc Pilar, Amaya Susilla and Alexia
Preda).
The activities began on Monday 15th
, with the guests' reception and the
participation in some ice-breaking activities, including a music and dance
exhibition by the students of the host school. During this morning, teachers did a
tour of the school and visited several classes, while the students took part in some
creative activities “Tips for healthy lifestyle”. During the afternoon, teachers
enjoyed a tour guide of Klaipeda, in which we got to know the main landmarks of
the town. The tour was organised by one of the history teachers at Klaipedos Vites
Progimnazija.
Tuesday, May 16th
, was a day dedicated to physical health. During the
morning, students continued with their creative activities related to “Tips for
healthy lifestyle” and then we all took part in physical activities, with sports
stations and active games at the school’s gym. After that, students in mixed groups
carried out an activity with the school’s specialist at the school’s library, where
they developed their digital and creative skills. In this activity, students reflected
on the different careers related to health. As a final product, the groups
presented their posters with their ideas and opinions.
In the afternoon, students and teachers enjoyed a trip to Palanga and to the
Amber Museum. It was a great opportunity to get to know some of the most
relevant history and aspects of the area, as well as a to have some recreation time
for students and teachers from the different countries to make personal
connections and establish stronger bonds.
Wednesday, May 17th
, was a day full of activities and visits. We took a
bus ride to the Curonian Spit and attended an exhibition at the Dolphinarium.
We then proceed to visit Nida, a quaint fishing village situated between the
Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. In 2000, the Curonian Spit, including Nida,
was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its authentic features: The
Spit is a constantly changing landform shaped by the sea, wind, and human
activity. We were impressed by our visit to the highest collection of drifting dunes
in Europe, some reaching up to 60 meters in height. We also enjoyed some time
to walk along their hiking trails through the forests.
TOGETHER, IN HARMONY!
The morning of Thursday, May 18th
, started with the students’
presentation of this week’s work in the workshop “Tips for healthy lifestyle”.
They all showed and explained their posters, where they reflected on different
aspects related to both physical and mental health. Next, both teachers and
students enjoyed a dance lesson with the school’s dance teacher. It was fun as
well as beneficial for our bodies! Before lunch, we also participated in some
educational activities at Klaipeda Castle Museum. This visit ended with a very
interesting activity: learning about and practicing a traditional game at the
Museum’s garden. It is always a great experience to get to know the traditions and
cultures of a different country. During the afternoon, teachers also visited Ventes
Ragas, on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon.
The last day of the LTT activities program, Friday 19th
, started with a
session of “canitherapy”, carried out by a dog specialist. It was also an opportunity
to seek similarities and differences between the 5 participant countries, in this case
regarding dogs. Students worked in groups and prepared a presentation to
compare the different viewpoints in the different countries.
After this, there was a ceremony to hand in the certificates of attendance;
we also took a chance to evaluate this meeting in Klaipeda. Teachers held a
meeting to plan the forthcoming activities and, meanwhile, students enjoyed some
farewell activities with music, dance and lunch. The Spanish team left in the
afternoon.
All in all, a very good collaboration between students and teachers was
noted, there was effective communication in English, and working in mixed teams
led to the promotion of human values such as tolerance, generosity, freedom of
expression, respect for people, trust in our own capabilities own and in others,
friendship. When we came back home, the four students valued this experience as
very enriching and fulfilling, both personally and academically.
During this month, IESO HAREVOLAR also carried out the corresponding
local activity: HEALTHY FOOD, GOOD MOOD. In this activity, all partners
together created a cookery book with 5 healthy recipes from each country. At
our school, the students from 1ºESO (7th
grade) developed this activity in their
English class, since they were already working in the school’s project “Healthy
Food”. In this project, 4 subjects were involved: Physical Education, English,
Biology and Art. In the English subject, we reviewed the nutritional aspects seen
in biology during the first term, focusing on vocabulary related to nutrients and
food. All the subjects together worked in creating different brochures where
students designed healthy meals.
TOGETHER, IN HARMONY!
This was an assessment task in all subjects and once we finished with the
project, the English teacher Lara Villarmea and the students co-evaluated the
final products to vote and choose the best 5 options: “Tortilla española” by Emma
Revilla, “gazpacho” by Paula Escobar and Sara Gutiérrez, “vegetable soup” by
Cinthia Zahino and Eva Hernández, “healthy pancakes” by Marta Diez and Carlos
Covarrubias and the “courgette cream” by Olivia Guerrero. During last weeks of
this month, these students cooked their recipes at home with their families and
took photos of the process to be included in the final cookery book. Lara
Villarmea was in charge of collecting all this material and putting it together to
send it to the leading organisation. Unfortunately, some of the students were not
able to finish their task this month, so we had to wait until June to be able to
complete the activity.
All throughout this month, Serafín Cabañas de Miguel (P.E. teacher),
Julia Pineda Martínez (biology teacher) and Lara Villarmea Iglesias (English
teacher and Erasmus+ coordinator) developed the next local activity: NATURE,
OUR FRIEND. This is going to be June’s activity and IESO HARÉVOLAR is
the leading organisation this time, so we held several meetings to organise and
coordinate the activity – writing down all the instructions and creating the
materials that were going to be necessary.
OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED
• Respect and appreciate cultural diversity
• Promote physical and mental health, which leads to a state of well-being for all members
of the partner school communities
• Stimulate participants' creativity through formal and non-formal activities
• Develop a sense of belonging to a multicultural, European community and strengthen
bonds between the partner school participants
• Improve students' and teachers' English communication and digital skills.
• Promote healthy eating habits
RESULTS
• Mobility to Klaipeda (Lithuania) and participation in all the teaching/learning/training
activities proposed in the “Healthy Lifestyle” block
• Workshops attended by students: “Tips for Healthy Lifestyle”, “Careers and health”,
“Canitherapy”, dance and sports lessons.
• Workshops and visits attended by the teachers: exchange of good practices, meetings to
organise the next local and LTT activities, guided tours, evaluation of the project.
• Certificates of participation
• Exchange of presents
• Dissemination of the project’s characteristics and objectives through the creation of
murals
TOGETHER, IN HARMONY!
• Initiation of the cookery book with 5 healthy recipes from each partner school
• Meetings to develop and coordinate the instructions for the next local activity (June:
NATURE, OUR FRIEND), since IESO HAREVOLAR is the leading organization.
IESO HARÉVOLAR Erasmus+ coordinator,
LARA VILLARMEA IGLESIAS

  • 2. TOGETHER, IN HARMONY! ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT In May, we enjoyed the second learning/teaching/training activity, hosted by KLAIPEDOS VITES PROGIMNAZIJA from Klaipeda, Lithuania. These activities took place under the title HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, bringing together students and staff teachers from the host unit and from each partner institution. From Spain, there were 2 teachers (Serafín Cabañas and Lara Villarmea) and 4 students (Raúl Mircea, Marc Pilar, Amaya Susilla and Alexia Preda). The activities began on Monday 15th , with the guests' reception and the participation in some ice-breaking activities, including a music and dance exhibition by the students of the host school. During this morning, teachers did a tour of the school and visited several classes, while the students took part in some creative activities “Tips for healthy lifestyle”. During the afternoon, teachers enjoyed a tour guide of Klaipeda, in which we got to know the main landmarks of the town. The tour was organised by one of the history teachers at Klaipedos Vites Progimnazija. Tuesday, May 16th , was a day dedicated to physical health. During the morning, students continued with their creative activities related to “Tips for healthy lifestyle” and then we all took part in physical activities, with sports stations and active games at the school’s gym. After that, students in mixed groups carried out an activity with the school’s specialist at the school’s library, where they developed their digital and creative skills. In this activity, students reflected on the different careers related to health. As a final product, the groups presented their posters with their ideas and opinions. In the afternoon, students and teachers enjoyed a trip to Palanga and to the Amber Museum. It was a great opportunity to get to know some of the most relevant history and aspects of the area, as well as a to have some recreation time for students and teachers from the different countries to make personal connections and establish stronger bonds. Wednesday, May 17th , was a day full of activities and visits. We took a bus ride to the Curonian Spit and attended an exhibition at the Dolphinarium. We then proceed to visit Nida, a quaint fishing village situated between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. In 2000, the Curonian Spit, including Nida, was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its authentic features: The Spit is a constantly changing landform shaped by the sea, wind, and human activity. We were impressed by our visit to the highest collection of drifting dunes in Europe, some reaching up to 60 meters in height. We also enjoyed some time to walk along their hiking trails through the forests.
  • 3. TOGETHER, IN HARMONY! The morning of Thursday, May 18th , started with the students’ presentation of this week’s work in the workshop “Tips for healthy lifestyle”. They all showed and explained their posters, where they reflected on different aspects related to both physical and mental health. Next, both teachers and students enjoyed a dance lesson with the school’s dance teacher. It was fun as well as beneficial for our bodies! Before lunch, we also participated in some educational activities at Klaipeda Castle Museum. This visit ended with a very interesting activity: learning about and practicing a traditional game at the Museum’s garden. It is always a great experience to get to know the traditions and cultures of a different country. During the afternoon, teachers also visited Ventes Ragas, on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon. The last day of the LTT activities program, Friday 19th , started with a session of “canitherapy”, carried out by a dog specialist. It was also an opportunity to seek similarities and differences between the 5 participant countries, in this case regarding dogs. Students worked in groups and prepared a presentation to compare the different viewpoints in the different countries. After this, there was a ceremony to hand in the certificates of attendance; we also took a chance to evaluate this meeting in Klaipeda. Teachers held a meeting to plan the forthcoming activities and, meanwhile, students enjoyed some farewell activities with music, dance and lunch. The Spanish team left in the afternoon. All in all, a very good collaboration between students and teachers was noted, there was effective communication in English, and working in mixed teams led to the promotion of human values such as tolerance, generosity, freedom of expression, respect for people, trust in our own capabilities own and in others, friendship. When we came back home, the four students valued this experience as very enriching and fulfilling, both personally and academically. During this month, IESO HAREVOLAR also carried out the corresponding local activity: HEALTHY FOOD, GOOD MOOD. In this activity, all partners together created a cookery book with 5 healthy recipes from each country. At our school, the students from 1ºESO (7th grade) developed this activity in their English class, since they were already working in the school’s project “Healthy Food”. In this project, 4 subjects were involved: Physical Education, English, Biology and Art. In the English subject, we reviewed the nutritional aspects seen in biology during the first term, focusing on vocabulary related to nutrients and food. All the subjects together worked in creating different brochures where students designed healthy meals.
  • 4. TOGETHER, IN HARMONY! This was an assessment task in all subjects and once we finished with the project, the English teacher Lara Villarmea and the students co-evaluated the final products to vote and choose the best 5 options: “Tortilla española” by Emma Revilla, “gazpacho” by Paula Escobar and Sara Gutiérrez, “vegetable soup” by Cinthia Zahino and Eva Hernández, “healthy pancakes” by Marta Diez and Carlos Covarrubias and the “courgette cream” by Olivia Guerrero. During last weeks of this month, these students cooked their recipes at home with their families and took photos of the process to be included in the final cookery book. Lara Villarmea was in charge of collecting all this material and putting it together to send it to the leading organisation. Unfortunately, some of the students were not able to finish their task this month, so we had to wait until June to be able to complete the activity. All throughout this month, Serafín Cabañas de Miguel (P.E. teacher), Julia Pineda Martínez (biology teacher) and Lara Villarmea Iglesias (English teacher and Erasmus+ coordinator) developed the next local activity: NATURE, OUR FRIEND. This is going to be June’s activity and IESO HARÉVOLAR is the leading organisation this time, so we held several meetings to organise and coordinate the activity – writing down all the instructions and creating the materials that were going to be necessary. OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED • Respect and appreciate cultural diversity • Promote physical and mental health, which leads to a state of well-being for all members of the partner school communities • Stimulate participants' creativity through formal and non-formal activities • Develop a sense of belonging to a multicultural, European community and strengthen bonds between the partner school participants • Improve students' and teachers' English communication and digital skills. • Promote healthy eating habits RESULTS • Mobility to Klaipeda (Lithuania) and participation in all the teaching/learning/training activities proposed in the “Healthy Lifestyle” block • Workshops attended by students: “Tips for Healthy Lifestyle”, “Careers and health”, “Canitherapy”, dance and sports lessons. • Workshops and visits attended by the teachers: exchange of good practices, meetings to organise the next local and LTT activities, guided tours, evaluation of the project. • Certificates of participation • Exchange of presents • Dissemination of the project’s characteristics and objectives through the creation of murals
