I have had the great pleasure of working with Brian Smith since he joined Arthur Chapman in
April 2004 to take charge of our help desk. During most of his time with us, I served as the
firm's Chief Executive Officer and, as such, maintained a close working relationship with Brian.
His responsibilities have included administration of the firm's Microsoft network, active
directory, exchange, virus protection, backup and recovery, maintenance of all nct.vork
resources, maintenance of all software applications, and responsibility for all user support
services. This has been a challenging assignment since the firm has moved very rapidly during
the last few years towards implementation ofa fully digital law practice, and this commitment
has made very heavy demands on our information teclmology systems. Brian has been a vital
resource to us in this endeavor.
Not only are Brian's technical skills outstanding, ofequal importance is the fact that he has a real
gift at being able to manage a large number of umelated issues at the same time, always in good
humor, whatever the level of pressure may be at any given time. I-Ie has been extremely well
liked and respected by virtually everyone at the firm.
If there is anything I can do to help advance his career beyond his present responsibilities, I
would be only too happy to assist. 1can offer Brian an unqualified endorsement for any future
employer whose needs match the skill sets that Brian has to offer.
Sincerely,
