- 2. Artful Mark Artful Mark, born Mark Leslie Hill, 22 December 1972 Wales. A British recording artist, songwriter, and record producer. Mark began his fame as being one of the half of the Artful Dodger team and also being a co-writer and producer of Craig David’s multi platinum album (Born to Do It) from the time he had started releasing music in 1997. Mark has been awarded for numerous awards such as : a number one album , Ivor Novello awards and over 10 million record worldwide sales .
- 3. Early Life • Mark began playing a guitar when he was eight years old. He would play along to the radio and deeply engage himself in songs by different genre artist such as Stevie wonder and George Benson. Throughout his early life and teen years mark played the drums in a bass band, rock bands and orchestras and then later decided to study to become an architect. He was persuaded to go Southampton uni study music. He joint a band as a percussionist, and decided to go into business with the bass player by setting up a studio, in the trading period of the studio, he met the future other half of Artful Dodger, Pete Deveruex. The two dying out regularly was how they met Craig David

Career • Being part of the artful dodger he recorded a song with Craig David on the vocals, where the Dreem team (fellow garage pioneers) who supported the track allowing it to get a good hype from the underground young audience and public demand who signed it up straight away .Later on Relentless Records hooked up onto the buzz and put a big effort into pushing the track Re-Rewind. It was a big and exciting moment for label of artful dodger and Craig David as the track hit number two in the UK charts 1999. The track went from underground to mainstream being played in clubs, on the radio and on the TV worldwide to this day. The Artful Dodger gain more strength and power after there success of re-rewind. 2001 was a big year for mark being an award winning, chart topper producer and song writer. He also spent brief time under the universal records .mark took a break from music till 2011, mark came back as Artful releasing his own label (Workhouse Records). Mark also hosts a radio dance show on voice FM for 2hours on a Friday 6pm-8pm
