ARM Design Competition

Main Objectives
 Use ARM technology to create or enhance a creative an
energy efficient, commercially viable system
 Three broad classifications of projects. Use a development
platform to:
 Perform an autonomous function
 Perform a particular function along with a communication medium to
report or update data and/or events, possibly remote-controlled
 Interact with an app running on a tablet or smart-phone

Initial Rules
 Teams of 2 - 5 students
 Submit proposals by March 27th

 Why is it a good idea?
 What is the development timeline and design phases?
 What do you need in terms of ARM-based processors, additional hardware and
software development tools?
 Competition ends one week before Imagine RIT in May 2014, and projects are displayed at
ImagineRIT 2014
 Development tools will be sponsored depending on participating partners
 Can count as RIT multidisciplinary design project, or some other course project
requirement!!
