-simply involves making
a list.
List all words or phrases
which you know are
related to the topic you
will write about.
CLUSTERING
-allows the writer to generate ideas
and also suggests ways in which the
different ideas might be logically
related, which can help the writer get a
sense of how the essay could
eventually be organized.
OUTLINING
-is related to both
listing and clustering.

9. First is the Introductory
paragraph. The first paragraph
of your essay should outline
the topic, provide background
information necessary to
understand your argument,
outline the evidence you will
present and states your thesis.
Second is the Body paragraphs. A typical
argumentative essay comprises three or
more paragraphs that explain the reasons
why you support your thesis or your stand
on the issue.
Each body paragraph should cover a
different idea or piece of evidence and
contain a topic sentence that clearly and
concisely explains why the reader should
agree with your position.
And the third and last part is
Conclusion. The conclusion
contains one paragraph that
restates your thesis and
summarizes all of the
arguments made in your
body paragraphs.

10. After writing your essay, don’t forget to do some post-writing activities to ensure quality output.
Re-read your story, make sure sentences make sense.
Add phrases to make the story flow smoothly (cohesion markers, pronouns, conjunctions).
Eliminate "fluff" (unnecessary or redundant details).
Proofread for spelling, vocabulary, grammar (checklist).
Check structure and format.
Share with audience (website, print, etc.).
