Residential Mobility
While the above test results demonstrate a strong negative relationship between geographic
mobility and female households with no husband present, thus rejecting the null hypothesis that
there is no relationship, one is not to assume this is a reliable reflection of the relationship between
single motherhood and residential mobility. As the results show, only approximately 17 percent of
the variability in geographic mobility of a state can be explained by female households with no
husband present (r2= .166). An increase in the percent of female householders with no husband
present only decreases the rate of geographic mobility by .27 percent (b= .268). There are many
shortcomings in the operationalization of this experiment that could explain... Show more content

Moreover, in order to achieve a more complete picture of housing stability for single mothers, an
examination of residential mobility would only be one of many factors to consider. Number of
moves only accounts for one dimension of housing stability, which is a highly complex concept
(Chwalek 956). Since there is no universally applied definition for studying it across disciplines,
housing stability must be conceptualized for each study, and any approach would have to be
multivariate and on a continuum to provide insight on the various levels of stability within the
broad category of housing (965). (965). Other variables to consider outside of residential mobility,
as tested in many of the studies in the earlier review of literature, include living conditions, the type
of housing, tenure of living situations, history of housing, household income, employment and
education status, accessible support structures, number of children, belief in stability, receipt of
housing subsidies, drug abuse, whether it was a forced displacement (e.g. eviction), and many
more. While it would be very time consuming and complicated to account for all of these variables,
they are all required to examine the full scope of housing stability and whether there is a
relationship with single motherhood. Another option is the narrow the variables to match what
exactly is trying to be studied, and proceed that

Compare And Contrast Abraham Lincoln And The Civil War
In order to understand the American Civil War, one must know more about the leaders who
controlled both sides. As many Americans know, Abraham Lincoln participated in the command
of troops on the Northern side of the conflict. On the Southern side, a very influential leader was
also present; Nathan Bedford Forrest was a well known general in the South and was renowned
for his brilliant tactics in combat. One is known as the great emancipator of the slaves, the other, as
the first leader of the Ku Klux Klan(Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.). The roles could have
been greatly reversed, had their upbringings been different. Despite their many differences, these
two influential figures had a surprising amount of similarities. Abraham... Show more content on

After the war, Nathan Bedford Forrest returned to his old life as a businessman, working with
railroads and lumber companies to make his living. Later in the 1860s, Forrest was chosen to be
the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan (Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.). It was here
where he led the Klan members on horseback to intimidate former slaves, republicans, and other
northern civilians. In 1869, he reportedly disbanded the cult, and when later asked about his
association, he denied all ties to the group. After this disbanding of the Ku Klux Klan, Forrest saw
his businesses fail and would manage a prison camp until he succumbed to complications with
diabetes (Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.).. When looking for similarities between Nathan
Bedford Forrest and Abraham Lincoln, it is important to look at their upbringings. When the
magnifying glass is put up to these influential figures, it is clear that they had extremely similar
childhoods. Lincoln and Forrest both started out poor and would go on to teach themselves how
to read and write. Later they would slowly rise to the occasion, and be put in a place of power.
For Forrest, that is when he started making money as a cotton plantation owner; for Lincoln, it is
when he became a lawyer and invested with politics.

Irrevocable Living Trust
As the baby boomer generation is starting to age and retire, there will be an increase for retirement
and estate planning services. While some of these retirees will find this not important, some will
take action. Children will start to help parents plan for their aging needs and assisting with getting
their parent s affairs in order. Although, most people between the age of 50 and 70 are more
concerned with watching how much money will be available upon retirement, they will have to
seriously start talking about uncomfortable things such as aging issues, such as failing health,
unexpected death and diminishing mental capacity. As uncomfortable as these things are to talk

How Does Helen Keller Change
Helen Keller has changed immensely from the beginning of the play The Miracle Worker .
Different influences in her life helped her achieve these changes and overcome her disabilities.
Her biggest hindrance was her inability to see, hear, or talk correctly. By having these disabilities,
she could not express her anger through words, so she expressed it by knocking things over and
fighting. As a result of this her mother and father hired nearly every doctor they could find in their
nearby area but, nobody was able to cure her.
In the beginning of The Miracle WorkerHelen is 6 years old, blind and deaf. She is very spoiled
because her parents have pity for her, so they give her everything she wants. She also has very bad
behavioral issues which include, eating from other people s plates at the table, and throwing
tantrums. In addition to these dilemmas, Helen does not know that all things have a name because
she has never experienced them before. Her parents do not know how to solve these problems
because they have tried many doctors in their area but nothing has been a success. ... Show more

Helen Keller Goals
Since Helen Keller s early years in life she has always been blind, deaf and mute. Members in her
family knew there was sure to be many difficulties in teaching her basic life routines, and from
where the family stood there was no way to teach her. Helen sometimes got so frustrated she would
lash out. Until one day her family, with hopes to teach her, hired someone with experience to help.
The teacher s name is Annie Sullivan. Sullivan had some difficulties getting through to Helen, but
once she did there was no stopping Helen Kellerfrom learning. Little after that everyone knew
Helen was destined for greatness, she started school and then succeeded to move on to college.
She rose to her educational heights and continued to rise up in the world. Despite Helen Keller s
setbacks, during her lifetime she accomplished great things that few people, who have the
privilege to see, hear and speak, can achieve. From a young age Helen Keller attended many
schools and even college, she succeeded at each school while still managing and overcoming any
setbacks with her disability. Helen first began school classes at the Perkins Institute. The director of
Perkins Michael Anagnos and the well known Alexander Graham Bell, both saw great potential in
Helen Keller from the beginning of her life. Though Keller was making progress and having letters
published at the Perkins Institute, a misunderstanding incident resulted in Helen Keller leaving
Perkins. (Helen Adams Keller 1,2). After Helen

Judaism Truly Value The Culture Of Non Violence
The wolf shall lie with the lamb and the leopard with the kid. Isaiah 11:6. One of the more
commonly known verses from the Hebrew bible. There are many verses such as this that express
the longing for a culture without violence that is attributed to the ethical values of Judaism. Upon
further research including an ethnographic study it was clear that followers of Judaism truly value
the culture of non violence. It is these ethicsand values within the Judaistic tradition for the
development of non violence that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a
safer civilisation.
Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on violence, non
violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states He will judge between the
nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares
And their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they
train for war anymore. The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage
and it appears to reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10 this idiom
is reused in a far more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the nations: Proclaim a
holy war! Alert the warriors! Let all the soldiers report and march! Beat your ploughshares into
swords, and your pruning knives into spears; Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these
passages, which shows

The Theme Of Lies And Truths In The Drawer Boy
After reading the novel The Drawer Boy by Michael Healey the universal theme that I believe is
portrayed is lies, and truths. These themes are developed by confusion regarding the truth,
confronting the truth, and the consequences that lying can have. The books theme is something
that readers can relate towards in their own everyday lives, making it a universal theme. The
play begins with the introduction of the characters Angus, Morgan, and Miles. Angus and
Morgan are two best friends who own a farm in Ontario, and Miles is an actor who is in a play
about farming. As the story continues the reader gets a deeper look into the life of the farmers
and sees that they haven t lived an easy life. One day Miles arrives at the farm looking to learn
more about farm life for a play that he is starring in. He ends up being invited to stay at the farm
to help out so that he can see what working on a farm is all about. One of the first farm chores
that Miles does is driving a tractor. However, he told Morgan that he had driven a tractor before
when he hadn t and ended up backing up over Morgan. This is one event in the story where the
universal theme of lies is displayed. When Miles lied about knowing how to drive the tractor, the
consequence was backing over Morgan. Although his injuries were not very severe Miles lie could
ve resulted in a much worse outcome. Another example of the universal theme in the novel is when
Morgan lies to Angus about what happened many years ago during

Food In Japanese Food
We as humans, see food as just a necessity of survival. As we intake our meal for the day, it is
uncommon for us to think past the taste or temperature of what is being placed in our mouth; we
don t pay attention to the depth of what the food on our plate could mean to not only us, but to
others in the world. Unlike what most may believe, foodis an essential component of society. The
consumption, preparation and the values and customs that attribute to creation of these foods
symbolize a variety of thing in a culture. The way a culture prepares and eats its food shows us a
glimpse of what this culture may be like. The art that is involved in the process of a culture s
breakfast, lunch and/or dinner illustrates characteristics and the personality of that culture.
Though the Japanese are portrayed as fun, animated people in media, the Japanese are actual very
respectful, polite, structured people. This may not be something you can see in television, but if
you take a look at their meals and how they are prepared and consumed you can see how much
honor is put into the art of eating and how that symbolizes the personality of the culture at large.
Before getting into the consumption aspect of the meal, lets first look at how the food is prepared.
Japanese meals are highly structured events, and the different versions of a Japanese meal are
defined by the relative position of the major carbohydrate rice whose presence is culturally
important, (Ashkenazi, Jacob 2000, 82) No

Wikidata is a central repository collecting structured data via collaborative online communities. It

projects that rely on contributions from volunteer users, Wikidata content are largely edited by vol

there are a large number of statements without any references, but also there is no over all view of

Kurt Voyer Defined The Psychology Of Teamwork
Benjamin Voyer defined the psychology of teamwork in the article. The study of teamwork was
originated with the development of social psychology and interest on how groups behave,
predominantly as against another group. There were two groups that were discussed in the
article that contributed to the study of teamwork. The first group is in group as described as being
a member of a group who share a particular interest or activity and defines who you are. The second
group was described as a group outside one s own with which one feels no sense of identity. This
second group is termed as out group . Hellen Keller s clichГ© enunciates that we can do so little if
we are alone and we can do so much if we will work as a team.
According to the writer, things can go wrong because power plays a big role in a team. In health
care for example, quality and safety are the two big priorities. However, flaws still arise. Typically,
the complications arise because of the problems in the team, not with the people s ability. There was
a situation wherein a misunderstanding between the surgeon and the assistant was narrated in the
article. There was a misunderstanding due to the fact that the surgeon had just transferred from the
other team. It simply tells us that teamwork was not applied in this situation. The author gave
emphasis on the importance of developing a team mind. The three C s were stated in the article
pertaining to teamwork. One of which is collaboration that

Analysis Of The Last Duchess Of Ferrara
The Last Duchess of Ferrara was the Duke s ex wife. She was a woman of compassion, modesty,
and she loved the simple things of life. In contrast, the Duke was an arrogant, possessive, jealous
and controlling person. In the dramatic lyric, My Last Duchess by Robert Browning, the Duke
becomes carried away with talking about a painting of his Last Duchess by Fra Pandolf. He
reveals to the Counts envoy that he gave the command to kill his wife, because he could not
express to her how he felt about the way she acted towards other men. Browning uses dramatic
monologue, rhymecouplets, enjambment, and stanza in My Last Duchessto reveal the controlling
thoughts of a jealous, controlling, and arrogant Duke who killed his wife. The Duke reveals to
the representative of the Count that his wife treated all men the same when she should place
him above everyone else. His jealousy leads him to be paranoid, and accused her of having an
affair. Brown developed the form of dramatic monologue, and he puts words in the mouths of
characters who were conspicuously nasty, weak, reckless, or crazy. For example, the Duke of
Ferrara exposes his psychological state of paranoia, jealousy, desire of power, and arrogance as he
talks to the envoy of the Count whose daughter he intends to marry about the last Duchess portrait.
the Duke says, That s my last Duchess painted on the wall, looking as if she were alive. I call That
piece a wonder, now (Kennedy Gioia, Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and
Writing, 2016, p.35). The Duke is addressing an audience thought the poem, but the listener never
responds to his questions. The type of structure Browning uses are rhyme couplets, long stanza,
and enjambment to show the Duke s control and lack of control of his thoughts. Rhyme couplets
have two lines, and each line is about the same length. In a couplet, each line of a couplet ends
with a word that rhymes with the previous or next line. The poem will have similar words in the
stanza. A rhyme scheme is recurrent pattern of rime within an individual poem or fixed form. A
rime scheme is usually described by using small letters to stand for each end rhyme (Kennedy

Parenting Is A Legacy For Children
Parenting: A Legacy For Children
Parenting is a process of supporting children through the ups and downs of life. From infancy to
adulthood, parents play an important role in the development of their children. They are expected
to ensure the child s health and safety, prepare them to function as citizens of society, and teach
them about what is important in life. Many parents learn how to parent by looking at the way they
were raised. However, with the stresses and strains that families face today, it is also a good idea
to be open to adding parenting tools to their toolbox. These tools are taught at places such as a
parent education group for ex offenders. Most of them have children of various ages. A social
worker leads the group to enhance their knowledge and skill sets and share topics such as being
present in the child s life, praising a child, effective discipline, and unconditional love. Parents
need to be present in their child s life, more connected, despite all the struggles and chaos of
living. Both child and parent need to get sufficient sleep, which enables them to function better.
When people are sleep deprived, they do not perform as well and are likely to be irritable.
Waiting until the weekend or a day off from regular activities to catch up on sleep does not work.
Also, cell phones need a break. Constantly being attached to cell phones hinders people s abilities
to interact. Parents who model this behavior may make their child feel that phone conversations
are more important than interactions with them. There was a woman who said hello to a
teenager while in the community. In response, the young man was not sure of what to say. He
was so used to talking and texting to people on his cell phone that he found it difficult to talk to
someone in person. In addition, join in on your child s fun. If a child is doing arts and crafts,
playing a sport, or watching a TV show, participate in the activities. Even when a parent is not
physically able to do a sport, they can ask their child about it. They can also go to sporting events
and talk about the activity. The main point is to stay connected to your child and their interests. In
response to the social worker s presentation, various

Why Do People Commit Crime
Longman dictionary defines crime as an offence that is punishable by law . As BBC Bitesize 2017
describes, doing something wrong is different than committing a crime. For example lying is not
considered as a crime but it is a wrong act that people carry out without getting punished. But why
do people commit crime? Some criminologists believe that people commit crime because it is in
their nature. It has been proved that some people are more likely to commit crime than others due
to the circumstances that they grow up under. According to BBC Bitesize people with anger issues
have a higher possibility of committing a crime. Generally poverty, low self esteem, drug and
alcohol are known as the main causes of crime all around the world.... Show more content on

Children in these families are at higher risk of committing crime than others. On 13/3/2012
government published Social Justice: Transforming lives which explained government s plans
for changing the lives of who have been struggling with poverty. The government has identified
120,000 families whose lives are chaotic and troubled. These families have caused 9 billion
pounds damage. This is not a huge amount money in contrast to the effects of poverty on
children s lives. Because children s lives get ruined due to poverty and no amount of money can
fix that. The program which the government aimed to perform suggested that vulnerable parents
that need support must be identified and helped from the early days of their children s lives.
Children have the right to grow up in a supporting and loving atmosphere. Social Justice tries to
help society function better. The government admits that over the last decades has ignored the
roots of causes of poverty and this resulted in deepening social problems (GOV.UK, 2013). There
are some examples that demonstrate these social problems. One of these examples is Barry.
Barry s father was a drug dependent and his mother was an alcoholic. She divorced Barry s father
and married another man who physically abused Barry. Barry was drinking at the age of 11 and
using heroin at 15. He kept going to prison for using drugs and violence. When

Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela...
Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela Cullington After reading Texting and
Writing, by Michaela Cullington, I do not agree with many of her viewpoints. Cullington argues
that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words
like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the
abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive
abbreviations on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in
all of their writings. Cullington did make good points of her own opinion on texting and writing in
her piece, but I disagree with her and believe that texting and... Show more content on

Cullington recalled a few examples that teachers found while reading papers, 2 instead of to, ;
gr8, instead of great, ; dat, in place of that, ; g2g, for got to go, ; hbu, instead of how about you, ;
cuz, to replace because, ; and wut, for what, . Textspeak is a dangerous way to write, and once a
writer learns and gets used to writing that way, writing papers for school becomes more and more
difficult. A common acronym is LOL which is an abbreviationfor laugh out loud. The abbreviated
for LOL would not be acceptable for an academic paper. Our current generation needs to pay
more attention when writing, and to use correct spelling and not use acronyms to shorten their
written ideas. Writing College, Writing Life s article Learning the Language by Perri Klass
talks about how some professions require abbreviations, which is one of the few times it is
accecptable. Abbrevaitons can be helpful and an easy way to write a few words in just a few
letters. Teachers do not like abbreviations because the writer tends to assume the reader knows
what each acronym means, the paper should be and enjoyable read, not a confusing puzzle. While
writing a paper for school teachers do not approve of abbreviation and acronyms, the writer should
just take his or her time to write our each word correctly. Michaela Cullington believes that texting

Hiroshima Bombing Essay
Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing
The United States of America became the first and the only realm to use the atomic bomb
weaponry during the war. The event happened when the nation dropped the atomic bomb on the
city of Hiroshima in japan. Although the nation had their intentions on dropping the weapon, it
brought a lot of negative impacts both to Japan and to America. Over seventy years later the
bombing impact is still very significant not only to the affected nation, but also to world history on
war. Although the atomic bombing of Hiroshima brought an end to World War II, it is argued that
it started a cold war between the two nations.
The United States was developing atomic weapons from the year 1940 even after being warned
by Albert Einstein on the research on nuclear weapons by Nazi Germany. By the time the United
States tested its first atomic bombing Mexico in July 1945, Germany had already been defeated.
However, the war against Japan in the pacific was increasingly becoming furious. The then
American president Harry S. Truman had been warned by some of his advisers on the casualties
that would befall America if they went ahead with the bombing. However, the president ordered for
the use of the new weapon in an attempt to end the war.
On the 6th of August 1945, a five ton bomb was dropped on Hiroshima city in japan. The very
powerful blast brought down a four square miles of the city reducing it to ruins. Over 80,000
people were killed on the spot and a lot more died

explicitly on all our thoughts; for if we did, the mind would reflect on each reflection, ad infinitum,
without ever being able to move on to a new thought. For example, in being aware of some present
feeling, I should have always to think that I think about that feeling, and further to think that I think
of thinking about it, and so on ad infinitum. It must be that I stop reflecting on all these reflections,
and that eventually some thought is allowed to occur without being thought about; otherwise I
would dwell for ever on the same thing.
(NE II.i.19, 118)
To Mr Leibniz, Philosopher in Hanover
Sir,
You have attempted to show that we can think and not be aware of it by showing that Locke s
conception of consciousness leads to an infinite regress of reflections. If you had been successful
in showing it absurd that we explicitly reflect on all of our thoughts, Locke would have had to
accept the idea that we can think and yet not be aware of it. Therefore, it may be the case that the
soul is indeed in perpetual motion. The first premise of your argument is your interpretations of
Locke s conception of consciousness; the mind s explicit reflection of thoughts. On this account,
whenever there is a thought in my mind, there is a higher order reflection of that thought. It

Organizational Data And Management System Essay
Abstract
Organizational data is increasingly prevalent due to the ease of collecting data from several sources.
Because so much data is now available and gathered, organizations must set a data management
system to clean then consolidate the data to give users clear insight into the organization s behavior.
To implement such a system requires the collaboration of both the business manager and the
business s IT organization. The IT organization must have a clear understanding of the data
standards and data model that the manager requests to correctly implement it. Furthermore, the IT
organization must determine how the system should be designed to match the data needs of the
organization. Alongside the IT team, the business manager must address several issues concerning
the system, including how the data should be organized, collected, and distributed. The business
manager is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the data gathered and how to address any
technical issues that arise, as well as oversee the support for any transitions to updated software, so
that data is not lost. Keywords: data management, data model, data management design, database
implementation

Analysis Of Raghu Nandan s Understanding Of An Intrapreneur
Intrapreneurial
Intrapreneurial Opportunities are key components for companies actively involved in new strategic
planning as they seek success in the near future. Raghu Nandan s understanding of an intrapreneur
is an individual or a group of individuals that work for a large company that take internal ideas and
visions within a company and configures them into a higher gross profit for a company (Nandan,
2009). An intrapreneur is similar to an entrepreneur with the concept of a business idea that is
created with innovation and designed to generate a revenue stream but the only difference is that
and entrepreneur doesn t operate under a large company.

By performing a PEST analysis on State Farm insurance, it is clear that the auto insurance industry
in New York is operating under many laws and restrictions when viewed from a political
perspective. Since State Farm is a financial service, there is no physical product that is being
created and manufactured. Financial service can be difficult to market because there is no product
and discussed in the social element of the PEST analysis, insurance companies don t always have a
good reputation. It is import for intrapreneurs to develop excellent marketing and advertisements
that will attracted many customers with intentions of company expansion. With advertisement in
this industry, there should be many targeted markets. A great example of State Farm taking

Observation and Measurement in Human Services Research
Observation and measurement in human services research Types of reliability The theory of
reliability states that it is impossible to calculate the reliability of a study in an exact way.
Instead, reliability is estimated and this creates an imperfection in research. There are four
major types of reliability. The first is inter rater or inter observer reliability. This means the
reliability that is used to assess the degree to which the different people who are observing or
rating the items being studied give estimates that are consistent regarding the same phenomenon.
A good example is the popular example of a glass half empty and one that is half full. This is to
mean that people who are in essence similar in every nature may have different ideas or views of
the same phenomenon. This kind of reliability is estimated by using a pilot study which is used to
establish the expected reliability in the main study(Rosnow Rosenthal, 2012). The second form of
reliability is the test retest reliability. This kind of reliability is used to assess the consistency of a
measure from one period of time to another. This reliability is estimated when the same test is
administered to the same sample group but at two different periods in time. This approach makes
an assumption that there is no substantial change in the construct that is being measures in the two
different occasions(Rosnow Rosenthal, 2012). The third form of reliability is the parallel forms
reliability. This form

Similarities Between Fahrenheit 451 And Minority Report
While there are many comparable characters between the story and the film, the most prominent
similarities are with Jon Anderton and Guy Montag. For example, both men had government jobs
in the beginning that they both deemed was respectable , but in the end had betrayed to follow
their own free will. In Fahrenheit 451, Guy s wife Mildred had turned him in after an incident
regarding her and her friends, while similarly in Minority Report , Jon s ex wife Lara had
informed Burgess of Jon s arrival in secret. Beatty and Lamar Burgess are also comparable, as they
both were leaders of an association that was intended to prevent an action even though they both
committed the crimes, and they both died at the hands of the protagonist.

While Anderton s original struggle was to prove his innocence, he quickly finds the error in pre
crime and tries to correct it. It s his knowledge that creates this conflict in the first place. In
Fahrenheit 451 , Montag s main dilemma circulates around the tension concerning knowledge and
ignorance. In the beginning, it was his duty as a Fireman to extinguish the knowledge that books

until he encounters Clarisse that he suddenly [realizes he] didn t like [the fireman] at all, and [he]

The Advantages Of Major League Baseball Salary Cap
There are five major sports leagues in the United States; Major League Baseball, Major League
Soccer, the National Basketball Association (which has what is known as a soft salary cap), the
National Football League, and the National Hockey League. Of these five, only baseball lacks
what is known as a salary cap. A salary cap is the upper limit of the combined salaries for a team
s players. In the other four sports I mentioned, having to work within the boundaries of a salary
cap is a balancing act, to gain an advantage at one position requires you to be at a disadvantage at
another position. For example, to have a top tier quarterback in the NFL like Tom Brady or Aaron
Rodgers and the large salary they command, a team might lack the funds to sign a top tier
linebacker or cornerback. With Major League Baseballlacking a salary cap, this balancing act
vanishes and teams could sign anyone and everyone they wished. This causes a competitive
imbalance that is hurting the sport. Too often we see the same teams making the playoffs and
winning championships like the San... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teams with large payrolls routinely win at a higher rate than teams who cannot afford to spend
the massive amounts of money other teams do. For example, in the last fifteen years the New
York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, two teams which regularly are among the highest
spending teams in baseball, won on average 94.7 and 86.8 games respectively. By comparison,
the San Diego Padres and the Kansas City Royals, two teams who are not able to compete
financially with teams with deeper pockets, won an average of 77.1 and 71.6 games respectively
in that same time span (Major League Baseball). This disparity in season wins is a direct cause of
Major League Baseball s lack of a salary cap. Over the course of a 162 game season, teams with
higher payrolls, and therefore better talent on their roster, will prevail more often than

Solaris And Memento Analysis
Elizabeth Loftus is a psychological scientist who discusses memories, specifically false memories,
in her TED Talk How reliable is your memory? Ultimately, Loftus explains that it is possible to not
only have false memories, but it is also possible to feed people misinformation that in return alters
one s memory. This concept of false memories, and more broadly one s remembered past, is
evident in a few films we have studied in class. In both Solaris (Soderbergh) and Memento,
improving one s self knowledge was dependent on dealing with regret and guilt about one s
remembered past. Solaris follows the protagonist, Chris Kelvin, on his journey to the space
station with the goal of helping the scientists with an unspecified experience aboard the station.
Shortly after his arrival, Kelvin experiences the strange experience firsthand when his deceased
wife Rheya appears in the middle of the night. At first, Kelvin believes she is a figment of his
imagination, or perhaps a dream, but soon he discovers she is real. Kelvin quickly decides to rid
the station of Rheya by sending her off in a separate skyrocket; yet, to Kelvin s surprise Rheya
materializes again that next night. In contrast, the second timeRheya emerges, Kelvin decides not
to kill her, but rather begins to question her existence. It is argued that Solaris is able to
reconstruct deceased ones from the memories of the scientists aboard the station. This raises the
following question: are the duplicates materializing on the space station real people? Gordon has
an unwavering opinion that these creatures are not human, and thus, should be eradicated.
However, Kelvin has already resurrected his love with the duplicate of Rheya, and believes he
could be happier living a life with her. Surprisingly, it is Rheya that indicates she is not the
original woman Kelvin is remembering, or dreaming about. Instead, she is a reconstruction of
Kelvin s remembered past of her. Kelvin s memories dictate how the duplicate Rheya speaks,
moves, listens, and feels. This is problematic because as Loftus explains, memory can be
unreliable. To improve his own self knowledge Kelvin must deal with the guilt of having hurt
Rheya by leaving her and potentially leading her to

Closed Itemsets Mining Closed Itemset
2.4.1 A Closed Algorithm Mining closed itemset, initially proposed in [23] Pasquier et al .A close
algorithm is a basic algorithm in frequent closed itemsets mining which is based on Apriori
algorithm[25] in frequent item mining. A close operation is performed in the following two general
steps: Producing frequent generators and achieving closureof frequent generators. For A close
algorithm, an itemset p is generator of closed itemset y, if p is one of smallest itemsets (it may be
more than one), and it determines y with Galois closureoperator h(p)=y [26]. To produce generators,
a level wise approach, similar to that of Apriori algorithm is taken. Then three steps of pruning are
conducted on candidate generators, and useless generators are pruned thereby[26]. The operation of
generator production is repeated until no other generator is produced. After producing generators
G1 to Gn (n is maximum generator size), closure of all these frequent generators should be
computed. The closure of all frequent generators results in all closed frequent itemsets. The
technique for calculating closure as the next.
The closure of generator p which is achieved by applying function h from Relation (3) on p, is
intersection of all database transactions that include p . A close algorithm uses breath first search
strategy for mining operation, and itemset lattice is analyzed in a bottom up way. Its weak point is
the great number of candid items and passes from dataset, leading to much

The largest controversy regarding monetary policy in 2009 was probably the rate cut in June, and to
a lesser extent in May. By then, the economy had begun showing signs of improvement, the
government s expansionary fiscal policy was just starting to have an impact, and the financial
markets had improved rapidly on the back of lower interest rates, government guarantees and ample
liquidity. Along with the strong signs that the economy was improving, there were growing
concerns that the extraordinarily low interest rates could initiate a housing market bubble. House
prices started to increase in January 2009, and have continued to climb gradually back to their pre
crisis levels. Some leading indicators and the strong recovery in the financial and asset markets
suggested an earlier recovery than what Norges Bank emphasized at that time.
After the August meeting, Norges Bank communicated clearly its intention to start its exit
strategy. Norges Bank wanted to withdraw the extraordinary measures first and then hike rates.

Why did the Federal Reserve fail in this fundamental task? The Federal Reserve s leaders disagreed
about the best response to banking crises. Some governors subscribed to a doctrine similar to
Bagehot s dictum, which says that during financial panics, central banks should loan funds to
solvent financial institutions beset by runs. Other governors subscribed to a doctrine known as real
bills. This doctrine indicated that central banks should supply more funds to commercial banks
during economic expansions, when individuals and firms demanded additional credit to finance
production and commerce, and less during economic contractions, when demand for credit
contracted. The real bills doctrine did not definitively describe what to do during banking panics,
but many of its adherents considered panics to be symptoms of contractions, when central bank
lending should contract. A few governors subscribed to an extreme version of the real bills doctrine
labeled liquidationist. This doctrine indicated that during financial panics, central banks should
stand aside so that troubled financial institutions would fail. This pruning of weak institutions
would accelerate the evolution of a healthier economic system. Herbert Hoover s secretary of
treasury, Andrew Mellon, who served on the Federal Reserve Board, advocated this approach.

Why Is Seatbelts Important
Nowadays, most people own cars and many people are riding cars on a daily basis. Although we
sometimes hear on the news about people dying by car accidents, there are much more cases
when people are not injured by car accidents thanks to the range of safety equipment designed to
keep the people on the car safe in the event of a car crash. The range of safety equipment is
supported in the background by the modern advanced science. First of all, seatbelts are installed
in every kind of car that is being sold. Seatbelts take a very important role in cars because it
works in many ways to protect the passengers from danger and car accidents. One of the reasons
why seatbelts are important is because seatbelts reduce the speed of a body of a passenger as it
gets an experience of an abrupt decreasing of speed. Since the velocity of the car and the
passenger is independent, even when the car crashed into a wall and the velocity suddenly
decreases to zero, the body of a passenger will want to still move forwards. The second reason is
that seatbelts prevent passengers from slamming parts of their... Show more content on

The Pros And Cons Of Fiction
There is nothing better than reading an interesting book, staying up all night and reading a good,
fictional story until you fall asleep, and waking up early just to see how it end. A person s reason
for enjoying fiction can differ but it is almost for the fact that fiction can make the reader feel as if
they have been transported to another world. People read fictionfor the curiosity and authors can
state/make points mixed with their own creativity. In class, we discuss authors and their messages
hidden through their story s plot. The author s plot is often just a background for what the writeris
really trying to get out to his audience.
In order to escape from the drama or reality of life and enter a more interesting one, people read
fiction to escape our world and enter someone else s. ...other times she needs to literally escape
her own thoughts. So she turns to books (Monica M Clarks). Taking a break from work and
school and taking time to just bury all your thoughts into a book is something that readers of all
audiences would agree sounds rather enjoyable. Fiction is like a finding all these alternate realities
and each reality bringing you into living through someone else s life.
Readers read fiction to understand people they haven t met and places they ve never visited. If a

Renaissance Research Paper
The Renaissance, a time defined as the rebirth of classical ideals, occurred in Italy between 1350
and 1600. Spreading quickly throughout Europe, with the innovation of the printing press, it caused
rippling effects. The Renaissance ultimately altered the aged education of theology from the Dark
Ages and renewed it with studies of more ancient, classic works. Classic art and literature grew
extremely popular, contrasting the lack of interest in them before. Many artists became prominent
advocates for the revival of the ideals of the classical past. The artists, using their masterpieces,
tremendously determined how modern historians view the era. While several aspects of the
Renaissance contributed and influenced the time, artists like MichelangeloBuonarroti, Leonardo da
Vinci, and Raffaello Sanzio had a stronger effect on and are greater representations of the time.
Leonardo da Vinci, born April 15, 1452, has been labeled by History.com editors as the ultimate
Renaissance man, [who] practiced all the visual arts and studied a wide range of topics, including
anatomy, geology, botany, hydraulics and flight. (History.com Staff) Da Vinci is a renowned artist
of his time. As a child, da Vinci had not been educated in art, but at the age of 15 his father had

Simon The Sunflower Quotes
Jairo 12 19 12 P.6 English 10R The Sunflower Simon Wiesenthal was born in Poland, December
31, 1908. Simon was a Jew trapped in 7 different concentration camps. He drew pictures of what
he saw to recount the horror. Simon was liberated in May 5, 1945. Simon started a club/program
to bring Nazis to justice. His main target was Adolf Eichmann; a Nazi who wanted to kill all the
Jew s and used little kids for lab experiments. Simon located him in Argentina. Adolf Eichmann was
at trial and pleaded he was not guilty. After the trial Simon wrote a book about Eichmann. Simon

This quote also reminds me when Karl asks Simon forgiveness for him and the other Jews.
Another quote was, without forgiveness there is no future. This quote means if you don t
forgive, anger and hatred will grow and anarchy will be everywhere. To sum things up in the
Sunflower Karl wanted to forgive Simon and all the Jews but he didn t respond to him. If I were
Simon I would forgive Karl just to make him feel a little better before death... Then I again
changed my opinion, to stage where I thought I would forgive him, but only by words, not
actually in my mind. I changed my first opinion because of Josek, in the story he said one can
forgive someone else only when the person did wrong to him, not to the

Personal Narrative-The One
The One
Going out to the arcade with Kiane for the first time was when I realized how much she meant to
me. The entire night we were together she did nothing but make me laugh and put a smile on my
face that never went away. Knowing the life I live, that doesn t happen as frequently. Having fun
is an understatement when it comes to being around her, I can be myself and act as I do with
friends and family. that night it hit me that she wasn t only my girl but a best friend. Something I
ve never found in a relationship before.
I would of have never thought going to the arcade with her would have been as amazing as it
was. Not saying that she isn t fun to go out with, just didn t expect that a Saturday night at an
arcade would show me the love of my life has been right in front of me all this time. We... Show

it was gaming time, I spent a fat 20$ bill got us a cup filled it up with tokens and had a plan to

The health sector is among the most important sectors in the United States economy. The
government has enacted certain laws that affect the corporation s activities and the insurance
industry in general. The regulation affects competition among the health insurance companies, and
the insurance industry in general.
Among the five forces of competition; existing competitive rivalry between suppliers, threat of new
market entrants, bargaining power of buyers, power of suppliers and threat of substitute products,
the most significant for UnitedHealth Group are threats for substitute products and rivalry among
competing firms. Given the fact that there are numerous healthcare insurance firms in the world;
there are also a number of substitutes for the corporation products and services. In recent years, the
banking industry has become involved in insurance activities. They provide some medical plans,
which act as substitutes to the UnitedHealth Group products. Banc assurance, otherwise known as
the bank insurance model, is a very common phenomenon in this global world. Banc assurance is
an arrangement in which a bank and an insurance company form a partnership so that the insurance
company can sell its products to the bank s client base. This type of partnership can be profitable
for both, the bank and the insurance company. Banks can earn additional revenue by selling the
insurance products and insurance companies are

How does this chapter fit the pattern of a covenant lawsuit (see CSB RG, 360; cf. 352)? What
has God done for the tribes of Israel? What two kinds of service are demanded of Israel in return
(think two tables of the Law/Decalogue)? Which one is emphasized here? Can the former
service (faith/worship) be acceptable to God without the latter (good works)? Which do you
think is more important: right worship and belief (orthodoxy) or right ethical commitments and
actions (orthopraxy)? (Hint: this last sub question is a trick question.) This chapter fits the
pattern of a covenant lawsuit because of the event of Yahweh accusing Israel of breaking the
covenant through their lack of justice and honesty, after the pattern of the kings of Israel. God
granted a good measure of prosperity for the tribes of Israel. The two kinds of service are
demanded of Israel in return are to believe in God and worship his word. I believe worshiping his
word is more emphasized because it encourages people do what God says and spread his word
rather than mindlessly believing in God. The former service (faith/worship) can not be acceptable
to God without the latter because it would do any justice to God if you were to believe in him
without preaching his faith. I believe both orthodoxy and orthopraxy are just as important as
eachother. In this and your other readings for this class session, what did you find to be the most

Bringing Back the Five Year High School Program
Bringing Back the Five Year High School Program For many teens, their four years of high school
have been a memorable and transforming experience, but for others, high school was just another
brick building keeping them from the real world. But what if another year of education was added
back to the four year program and it assisted students with their high schoolexperience? Since 2003,
Toronto high schools have removed the fifth year of the high school program but people have
spoken about bringing back the extra year to help students with course averages, stress and decrease
the dropout rate. Returning to the five year program may be beneficial to help high school students

It gives them time to relax from other sources of stress like increased work load. It is said that
having academic courses will help students stay on task and become persistent because of the
increased amount of work they need to complete, however, an abundance school work can cause
extreme stress and/or anxiety. If a student were to have a course schedule of Physics, biology,
Chemistry, Advanced functions, Calculus and French, he/she would need some time to relax in
a day and express themselves thorough one of their interests, so they may choose to take an arts
course (i.e. Drama, Dance, Media Studies, etc.) or join a club or activity. The five year high
school program can help with improving a student s overall average which will later be of value
to them when applying to post secondary schools. A student with a lower grade average in their
final year of highs school will have a smaller chance of getting accepted into the university
/college program of their choice whereas a student with a higher average during their final high
school year will have a greater chance of being accepted into university/college program of their
choice. The fifth year will provide more time to focus on school work and to receive help from
teachers. The five year program in high schools will significantly help students with course
planning and marks but also help them keep peace of mind.

good. And all I seen come different. So we can t tell a person with inaccurate assumption. It is
hard to tell by first impression but it is important for the next step. To analyze my idea that first

Cause And Effect Of Burmese Pythons
The Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is one of the largest snakes in the world, measuring up to
5.74 meters long and weighing up to 182.8 kilograms. The species is native to southeast Asia and
in its native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian,
lizard, snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have
established themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National
Park(Boback et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of
their introduction to the Evergladesas a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations
have significantly increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since
their introduction, preying on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious
problem as an invasive species and apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the
Burmese python has an immense impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20
years, observations of mammals in the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non
native Burmese pythons in the park has significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). Data from game
cameras used in a study by Willson support this observation, showing the spatial pattern of mammal
abundance being inversely correlated with spatial expansion of Burmese pythons in the Everglades
(Willson 2017). Burmese pythons have to been

The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich...
The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that occurred
mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that seemed so straight
forward many years past finds itself a new meaning within the greater context of the period. The
same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli
delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of 1972.
This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time
period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been
dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed
against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP,
another radical group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September
Organization attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had
occupied their lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in
an act of revenge (Smith).
However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today.
In both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The Secretary
General of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its own, one that was terrible, it
was made worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic Games

Abstract:
In the recent time, there will be an increasing need to provide application platforms such as internet
deployment for areas without infrastructure, wireless video streaming between moving objects, data
exchange between office equipment etc. These applications can be solved with the help of wireless
ad hoc networks that can be realized e.g., with Wi Fi protocols. The question arises, what theoretical
throughput different wireless standards can achieve, and how much the throughput will decrease
when data has to be transferred over several hops. This is a technology that enables un tethered
wireless networking environments where there is no wired or cellular infrastructure. Wireless Ad
hoc Networks since then is a fast developing research area with a vast spectrum of applications.
Wireless sensor network systems enable the reliable monitoring of a variety of environments for
both civil and military applications
This paper provides an overview of wireless technologies which can be used in ad hoc scenarios,
their limitations and applications involved in this mechanism.

Who Was The Most Responsible For The Tragic Events In Macbeth
Macdeath
You probably don t know who was most responsible for the tragic events that occur in the play.
Well you re in luck, I m going to show you who is responsible for all the tragic events that occur. I
believe that Macbeth is the cause of all the tragic events that occur in the play.
Macbeth causes the first tragic event in this play, which is the murder of King Duncan.
The text states, And on thy blade and dudgeon, gouts of blood (Shakespeare II.1.45). This text is
telling us that there is blood on Macbeth s dagger and who s blood would that be? You guessed it
King Duncan s blood. This is what started the whole blood thirsty and power thing for
Macbeth because soon after Macbeth found bloody daggers on the guards Macbeth killed them.
The text states, Th expedition of my violent love/Outrun the pauser reason ... Show more content

Macbeth snaps him out of it, but later he sees the ghost again and is done for the night. Now you see
Macbeth is getting less innocent as this play goes on. He is pulling all of these tragic events out of
thin air, but there s more.
Some more time passes and Macbeth gets the idea that he should have Macduff s family murdered
so he calls more assassins and has them kill Macduff s wife and children which again are innocent
people. The text states, He has killed me, mother./ Run away , I pray you,/ [Lady
Macduff exits, crying Murder (Shakespeare IV.2.80 82). Soon Macduff hears about this news and
he is ready to kill Macbeth, so he gets his army to go to Macbeth s castle. Macbeth and
Macduff end up duking it out at the end. As always the good prevails and Macduff slayed
Macbeth and chopped his head off, which by the way is another tragic event.
Some may disagree with me saying that Macbeth caused the tragic events in this

  • 5. Residential Mobility While the above test results demonstrate a strong negative relationship between geographic mobility and female households with no husband present, thus rejecting the null hypothesis that there is no relationship, one is not to assume this is a reliable reflection of the relationship between single motherhood and residential mobility. As the results show, only approximately 17 percent of the variability in geographic mobility of a state can be explained by female households with no husband present (r2= .166). An increase in the percent of female householders with no husband present only decreases the rate of geographic mobility by .27 percent (b= .268). There are many shortcomings in the operationalization of this experiment that could explain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, in order to achieve a more complete picture of housing stability for single mothers, an examination of residential mobility would only be one of many factors to consider. Number of moves only accounts for one dimension of housing stability, which is a highly complex concept (Chwalek 956). Since there is no universally applied definition for studying it across disciplines, housing stability must be conceptualized for each study, and any approach would have to be multivariate and on a continuum to provide insight on the various levels of stability within the broad category of housing (965). (965). Other variables to consider outside of residential mobility, as tested in many of the studies in the earlier review of literature, include living conditions, the type of housing, tenure of living situations, history of housing, household income, employment and education status, accessible support structures, number of children, belief in stability, receipt of housing subsidies, drug abuse, whether it was a forced displacement (e.g. eviction), and many more. While it would be very time consuming and complicated to account for all of these variables, they are all required to examine the full scope of housing stability and whether there is a relationship with single motherhood. Another option is the narrow the variables to match what exactly is trying to be studied, and proceed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Compare And Contrast Abraham Lincoln And The Civil War In order to understand the American Civil War, one must know more about the leaders who controlled both sides. As many Americans know, Abraham Lincoln participated in the command of troops on the Northern side of the conflict. On the Southern side, a very influential leader was also present; Nathan Bedford Forrest was a well known general in the South and was renowned for his brilliant tactics in combat. One is known as the great emancipator of the slaves, the other, as the first leader of the Ku Klux Klan(Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.). The roles could have been greatly reversed, had their upbringings been different. Despite their many differences, these two influential figures had a surprising amount of similarities. Abraham... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the war, Nathan Bedford Forrest returned to his old life as a businessman, working with railroads and lumber companies to make his living. Later in the 1860s, Forrest was chosen to be the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan (Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.). It was here where he led the Klan members on horseback to intimidate former slaves, republicans, and other northern civilians. In 1869, he reportedly disbanded the cult, and when later asked about his association, he denied all ties to the group. After this disbanding of the Ku Klux Klan, Forrest saw his businesses fail and would manage a prison camp until he succumbed to complications with diabetes (Biography: Nathan Bedford Forrest, n.d.).. When looking for similarities between Nathan Bedford Forrest and Abraham Lincoln, it is important to look at their upbringings. When the magnifying glass is put up to these influential figures, it is clear that they had extremely similar childhoods. Lincoln and Forrest both started out poor and would go on to teach themselves how to read and write. Later they would slowly rise to the occasion, and be put in a place of power. For Forrest, that is when he started making money as a cotton plantation owner; for Lincoln, it is when he became a lawyer and invested with politics. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. How Does Helen Keller Change Helen Keller has changed immensely from the beginning of the play The Miracle Worker . Different influences in her life helped her achieve these changes and overcome her disabilities. Her biggest hindrance was her inability to see, hear, or talk correctly. By having these disabilities, she could not express her anger through words, so she expressed it by knocking things over and fighting. As a result of this her mother and father hired nearly every doctor they could find in their nearby area but, nobody was able to cure her. In the beginning of The Miracle WorkerHelen is 6 years old, blind and deaf. She is very spoiled because her parents have pity for her, so they give her everything she wants. She also has very bad behavioral issues which include, eating from other people s plates at the table, and throwing tantrums. • 12. Helen Keller Goals Since Helen Keller s early years in life she has always been blind, deaf and mute. Members in her family knew there was sure to be many difficulties in teaching her basic life routines, and from where the family stood there was no way to teach her. Helen sometimes got so frustrated she would lash out. Until one day her family, with hopes to teach her, hired someone with experience to help. The teacher s name is Annie Sullivan. Sullivan had some difficulties getting through to Helen, but once she did there was no stopping Helen Kellerfrom learning. Little after that everyone knew Helen was destined for greatness, she started school and then succeeded to move on to college. She rose to her educational heights and continued to rise up in the world. Despite Helen Keller s setbacks, during her lifetime she accomplished great things that few people, who have the privilege to see, hear and speak, can achieve. From a young age Helen Keller attended many schools and even college, she succeeded at each school while still managing and overcoming any setbacks with her disability. Helen first began school classes at the Perkins Institute. The director of Perkins Michael Anagnos and the well known Alexander Graham Bell, both saw great potential in Helen Keller from the beginning of her life. Though Keller was making progress and having letters published at the Perkins Institute, a misunderstanding incident resulted in Helen Keller leaving Perkins. (Helen Adams Keller 1,2). • 13. Judaism Truly Value The Culture Of Non Violence The wolf shall lie with the lamb and the leopard with the kid. Isaiah 11:6. One of the more commonly known verses from the Hebrew bible. There are many verses such as this that express the longing for a culture without violence that is attributed to the ethical values of Judaism. Upon further research including an ethnographic study it was clear that followers of Judaism truly value the culture of non violence. It is these ethicsand values within the Judaistic tradition for the development of non violence that are invaluable for contemporary society as they help to create a safer civilisation. Firstly, the Torah or Hebrew bible has many different examples and teachings on violence, non violence, punishment and war (Freeman, 2015). Isaiah 2:4 states He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares And their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. The thirst for a world without violence is clearly portrayed in this passage and it appears to reflect one of the strongest values of Judaism. However in Joel 4:9 10 this idiom is reused in a far more barbaric manner (Heft, 2004). Announce this to the nations: Proclaim a holy war! Alert the warriors! Let all the soldiers report and march! Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning knives into spears; Let the weakling boast, I am a warrior! Of these passages, which shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Theme Of Lies And Truths In The Drawer Boy After reading the novel The Drawer Boy by Michael Healey the universal theme that I believe is portrayed is lies, and truths. These themes are developed by confusion regarding the truth, confronting the truth, and the consequences that lying can have. The books theme is something that readers can relate towards in their own everyday lives, making it a universal theme. The play begins with the introduction of the characters Angus, Morgan, and Miles. Angus and Morgan are two best friends who own a farm in Ontario, and Miles is an actor who is in a play about farming. As the story continues the reader gets a deeper look into the life of the farmers and sees that they haven t lived an easy life. One day Miles arrives at the farm looking to learn more about farm life for a play that he is starring in. He ends up being invited to stay at the farm to help out so that he can see what working on a farm is all about. One of the first farm chores that Miles does is driving a tractor. However, he told Morgan that he had driven a tractor before when he hadn t and ended up backing up over Morgan. This is one event in the story where the universal theme of lies is displayed. When Miles lied about knowing how to drive the tractor, the consequence was backing over Morgan. Although his injuries were not very severe Miles lie could ve resulted in a much worse outcome. Another example of the universal theme in the novel is when Morgan lies to Angus about what happened many years ago during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Food In Japanese Food We as humans, see food as just a necessity of survival. As we intake our meal for the day, it is uncommon for us to think past the taste or temperature of what is being placed in our mouth; we don t pay attention to the depth of what the food on our plate could mean to not only us, but to others in the world. Unlike what most may believe, foodis an essential component of society. The consumption, preparation and the values and customs that attribute to creation of these foods symbolize a variety of thing in a culture. The way a culture prepares and eats its food shows us a glimpse of what this culture may be like. The art that is involved in the process of a culture s breakfast, lunch and/or dinner illustrates characteristics and the personality of that culture. Though the Japanese are portrayed as fun, animated people in media, the Japanese are actual very respectful, polite, structured people. This may not be something you can see in television, but if you take a look at their meals and how they are prepared and consumed you can see how much honor is put into the art of eating and how that symbolizes the personality of the culture at large. Before getting into the consumption aspect of the meal, lets first look at how the food is prepared. Japanese meals are highly structured events, and the different versions of a Japanese meal are defined by the relative position of the major carbohydrate rice whose presence is culturally important, (Ashkenazi, Jacob 2000, 82) No ... • 17. Kurt Voyer Defined The Psychology Of Teamwork Benjamin Voyer defined the psychology of teamwork in the article. The study of teamwork was originated with the development of social psychology and interest on how groups behave, predominantly as against another group. There were two groups that were discussed in the article that contributed to the study of teamwork. The first group is in group as described as being a member of a group who share a particular interest or activity and defines who you are. The second group was described as a group outside one s own with which one feels no sense of identity. This second group is termed as out group . Hellen Keller s clichГ© enunciates that we can do so little if we are alone and we can do so much if we will work as a team. According to the writer, things can go wrong because power plays a big role in a team. In health care for example, quality and safety are the two big priorities. However, flaws still arise. Typically, the complications arise because of the problems in the team, not with the people s ability. There was a situation wherein a misunderstanding between the surgeon and the assistant was narrated in the article. There was a misunderstanding due to the fact that the surgeon had just transferred from the other team. It simply tells us that teamwork was not applied in this situation. The author gave emphasis on the importance of developing a team mind. The three C s were stated in the article pertaining to teamwork. One of which is collaboration that ... In contrast, the Duke was an arrogant, possessive, jealous and controlling person. In the dramatic lyric, My Last Duchess by Robert Browning, the Duke becomes carried away with talking about a painting of his Last Duchess by Fra Pandolf. He reveals to the Counts envoy that he gave the command to kill his wife, because he could not express to her how he felt about the way she acted towards other men. Browning uses dramatic monologue, rhymecouplets, enjambment, and stanza in My Last Duchessto reveal the controlling thoughts of a jealous, controlling, and arrogant Duke who killed his wife. The Duke reveals to the representative of the Count that his wife treated all men the same when she should place him above everyone else. His jealousy leads him to be paranoid, and accused her of having an affair. Brown developed the form of dramatic monologue, and he puts words in the mouths of characters who were conspicuously nasty, weak, reckless, or crazy. For example, the Duke of Ferrara exposes his psychological state of paranoia, jealousy, desire of power, and arrogance as he talks to the envoy of the Count whose daughter he intends to marry about the last Duchess portrait. the Duke says, That s my last Duchess painted on the wall, looking as if she were alive. I call That piece a wonder, now (Kennedy Gioia, Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Writing, 2016, p.35). The Duke is addressing an audience thought the poem, but the listener never responds to his questions. The type of structure Browning uses are rhyme couplets, long stanza, and enjambment to show the Duke s control and lack of control of his thoughts. Rhyme couplets have two lines, and each line is about the same length. In a couplet, each line of a couplet ends with a word that rhymes with the previous or next line. The poem will have similar words in the stanza. A rhyme scheme is recurrent pattern of rime within an individual poem or fixed form. A rime scheme is usually described by using small letters to stand for each end rhyme (Kennedy Gioia, Literature: An Introduction to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Parenting Is A Legacy For Children Parenting: A Legacy For Children Parenting is a process of supporting children through the ups and downs of life. From infancy to adulthood, parents play an important role in the development of their children. They are expected to ensure the child s health and safety, prepare them to function as citizens of society, and teach them about what is important in life. Many parents learn how to parent by looking at the way they were raised. However, with the stresses and strains that families face today, it is also a good idea to be open to adding parenting tools to their toolbox. These tools are taught at places such as a parent education group for ex offenders. Most of them have children of various ages. A social worker leads the group to enhance their knowledge and skill sets and share topics such as being present in the child s life, praising a child, effective discipline, and unconditional love. Parents need to be present in their child s life, more connected, despite all the struggles and chaos of living. Both child and parent need to get sufficient sleep, which enables them to function better. When people are sleep deprived, they do not perform as well and are likely to be irritable. Waiting until the weekend or a day off from regular activities to catch up on sleep does not work. Also, cell phones need a break. Constantly being attached to cell phones hinders people s abilities to interact. Parents who model this behavior may make their child feel that phone conversations are more important than interactions with them. There was a woman who said hello to a teenager while in the community. In response, the young man was not sure of what to say. He was so used to talking and texting to people on his cell phone that he found it difficult to talk to someone in person. In addition, join in on your child s fun. If a child is doing arts and crafts, playing a sport, or watching a TV show, participate in the activities. Even when a parent is not physically able to do a sport, they can ask their child about it. They can also go to sporting events and talk about the activity. The main point is to stay connected to your child and their interests. In response to the social worker s presentation, various ... As BBC Bitesize 2017 describes, doing something wrong is different than committing a crime. For example lying is not considered as a crime but it is a wrong act that people carry out without getting punished. But why do people commit crime? Some criminologists believe that people commit crime because it is in their nature. It has been proved that some people are more likely to commit crime than others due to the circumstances that they grow up under. According to BBC Bitesize people with anger issues have a higher possibility of committing a crime. Generally poverty, low self esteem, drug and alcohol are known as the main causes of crime all around the world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children in these families are at higher risk of committing crime than others. On 13/3/2012 government published Social Justice: Transforming lives which explained government s plans for changing the lives of who have been struggling with poverty. The government has identified 120,000 families whose lives are chaotic and troubled. These families have caused 9 billion pounds damage. This is not a huge amount money in contrast to the effects of poverty on children s lives. Because children s lives get ruined due to poverty and no amount of money can fix that. The program which the government aimed to perform suggested that vulnerable parents that need support must be identified and helped from the early days of their children s lives. Children have the right to grow up in a supporting and loving atmosphere. Social Justice tries to help society function better. The government admits that over the last decades has ignored the roots of causes of poverty and this resulted in deepening social problems (GOV.UK, 2013). There are some examples that demonstrate these social problems. One of these examples is Barry. Barry s father was a drug dependent and his mother was an alcoholic. She divorced Barry s father and married another man who physically abused Barry. Barry was drinking at the age of 11 and using heroin at 15. He kept going to prison for using drugs and violence. Cullington argues that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive abbreviations on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in all of their writings. The event happened when the nation dropped the atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima in japan. Over seventy years later the bombing impact is still very significant not only to the affected nation, but also to world history on war. Although the atomic bombing of Hiroshima brought an end to World War II, it is argued that it started a cold war between the two nations. The United States was developing atomic weapons from the year 1940 even after being warned by Albert Einstein on the research on nuclear weapons by Nazi Germany. By the time the United States tested its first atomic bombing Mexico in July 1945, Germany had already been defeated. However, the war against Japan in the pacific was increasingly becoming furious. Mr Leibniz, Philosopher And Philosopher Forgive me, sir, but I must point out that when you contend that there is nothing in the soul of which it is not aware, you are begging the question ... it is impossible that we should always reflect explicitly on all our thoughts; for if we did, the mind would reflect on each reflection, ad infinitum, without ever being able to move on to a new thought. For example, in being aware of some present feeling, I should have always to think that I think about that feeling, and further to think that I think of thinking about it, and so on ad infinitum. It must be that I stop reflecting on all these reflections, and that eventually some thought is allowed to occur without being thought about; otherwise I would dwell for ever on the same thing. (NE II.i.19, 118) To Mr Leibniz, Philosopher in Hanover Sir, You have attempted to show that we can think and not be aware of it by showing that Locke s conception of consciousness leads to an infinite regress of reflections. If you had been successful in showing it absurd that we explicitly reflect on all of our thoughts, Locke would have had to accept the idea that we can think and yet not be aware of it. Therefore, it may be the case that the soul is indeed in perpetual motion. Because so much data is now available and gathered, organizations must set a data management system to clean then consolidate the data to give users clear insight into the organization s behavior. To implement such a system requires the collaboration of both the business manager and the business s IT organization. The IT organization must have a clear understanding of the data standards and data model that the manager requests to correctly implement it. Furthermore, the IT organization must determine how the system should be designed to match the data needs of the organization. Alongside the IT team, the business manager must address several issues concerning the system, including how the data should be organized, collected, and distributed. The business manager is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the data gathered and how to address any technical issues that arise, as well as oversee the support for any transitions to updated software, so that data is not lost. Observation and Measurement in Human Services Research Observation and measurement in human services research Types of reliability The theory of reliability states that it is impossible to calculate the reliability of a study in an exact way. Instead, reliability is estimated and this creates an imperfection in research. There are four major types of reliability. The first is inter rater or inter observer reliability. This means the reliability that is used to assess the degree to which the different people who are observing or rating the items being studied give estimates that are consistent regarding the same phenomenon. A good example is the popular example of a glass half empty and one that is half full. This is to mean that people who are in essence similar in every nature may have different ideas or views of the same phenomenon. This kind of reliability is estimated by using a pilot study which is used to establish the expected reliability in the main study(Rosnow Rosenthal, 2012). The second form of reliability is the test retest reliability. This kind of reliability is used to assess the consistency of a measure from one period of time to another. This reliability is estimated when the same test is administered to the same sample group but at two different periods in time. This approach makes an assumption that there is no substantial change in the construct that is being measures in the two different occasions(Rosnow Rosenthal, 2012). The third form of reliability is the parallel forms reliability. This form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Of these five, only baseball lacks what is known as a salary cap. A salary cap is the upper limit of the combined salaries for a team s players. In the other four sports I mentioned, having to work within the boundaries of a salary cap is a balancing act, to gain an advantage at one position requires you to be at a disadvantage at another position. For example, to have a top tier quarterback in the NFL like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers and the large salary they command, a team might lack the funds to sign a top tier linebacker or cornerback. • 31. Solaris And Memento Analysis Elizabeth Loftus is a psychological scientist who discusses memories, specifically false memories, in her TED Talk How reliable is your memory? Ultimately, Loftus explains that it is possible to not only have false memories, but it is also possible to feed people misinformation that in return alters one s memory. This concept of false memories, and more broadly one s remembered past, is evident in a few films we have studied in class. In both Solaris (Soderbergh) and Memento, improving one s self knowledge was dependent on dealing with regret and guilt about one s remembered past. Solaris follows the protagonist, Chris Kelvin, on his journey to the space station with the goal of helping the scientists with an unspecified experience aboard the station. Shortly after his arrival, Kelvin experiences the strange experience firsthand when his deceased wife Rheya appears in the middle of the night. At first, Kelvin believes she is a figment of his imagination, or perhaps a dream, but soon he discovers she is real. Kelvin quickly decides to rid the station of Rheya by sending her off in a separate skyrocket; yet, to Kelvin s surprise Rheya materializes again that next night. In contrast, the second timeRheya emerges, Kelvin decides not to kill her, but rather begins to question her existence. It is argued that Solaris is able to reconstruct deceased ones from the memories of the scientists aboard the station. This raises the following question: are the duplicates materializing on the space station real people? Gordon has an unwavering opinion that these creatures are not human, and thus, should be eradicated. However, Kelvin has already resurrected his love with the duplicate of Rheya, and believes he could be happier living a life with her. Surprisingly, it is Rheya that indicates she is not the original woman Kelvin is remembering, or dreaming about. Instead, she is a reconstruction of Kelvin s remembered past of her. Kelvin s memories dictate how the duplicate Rheya speaks, moves, listens, and feels. This is problematic because as Loftus explains, memory can be unreliable. To improve his own self knowledge Kelvin must deal with the guilt of having hurt Rheya by leaving her and potentially leading her to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Closed Itemsets Mining Closed Itemset 2.4.1 A Closed Algorithm Mining closed itemset, initially proposed in [23] Pasquier et al .A close algorithm is a basic algorithm in frequent closed itemsets mining which is based on Apriori algorithm[25] in frequent item mining. A close operation is performed in the following two general steps: Producing frequent generators and achieving closureof frequent generators. For A close algorithm, an itemset p is generator of closed itemset y, if p is one of smallest itemsets (it may be more than one), and it determines y with Galois closureoperator h(p)=y [26]. To produce generators, a level wise approach, similar to that of Apriori algorithm is taken. Then three steps of pruning are conducted on candidate generators, and useless generators are pruned thereby[26]. The operation of generator production is repeated until no other generator is produced. After producing generators G1 to Gn (n is maximum generator size), closure of all these frequent generators should be computed. The closure of all frequent generators results in all closed frequent itemsets. The technique for calculating closure as the next. The closure of generator p which is achieved by applying function h from Relation (3) on p, is intersection of all database transactions that include p . In 2002, Ben Bernanke, then a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, acknowledged publicly what economists have long believed. The Federal Reserve s mistakes contributed to the worst economic disaster in American history (Bernanke 2002). Bernanke, like other economic historians, characterized the Great Depression as a disaster because of its length, depth, and consequences. Why did the Federal Reserve fail in this fundamental task? The Federal Reserve s leaders disagreed about the best response to banking crises. Some governors subscribed to a doctrine similar to Bagehot s dictum, which says that during financial panics, central banks should loan funds to solvent financial institutions beset by runs. Other governors subscribed to a doctrine known as real bills. This doctrine indicated that central banks should supply more funds to commercial banks during economic expansions, when individuals and firms demanded additional credit to finance production and commerce, and less during economic contractions, when demand for credit contracted. The real bills doctrine did not definitively describe what to do during banking panics, but many of its adherents considered panics to be symptoms of contractions, when central bank lending should contract. A few governors subscribed to an extreme version of the real bills doctrine labeled liquidationist. This doctrine indicated that during financial panics, central banks should stand aside so that troubled financial institutions would fail. This pruning of weak institutions would accelerate the evolution of a healthier economic system. Herbert Hoover s secretary of treasury, Andrew Mellon, who served on the Federal Reserve Board, advocated this approach. These intellectual tensions and the Federal ... • 41. Why Is Seatbelts Important Nowadays, most people own cars and many people are riding cars on a daily basis. Although we sometimes hear on the news about people dying by car accidents, there are much more cases when people are not injured by car accidents thanks to the range of safety equipment designed to keep the people on the car safe in the event of a car crash. The range of safety equipment is supported in the background by the modern advanced science. First of all, seatbelts are installed in every kind of car that is being sold. Seatbelts take a very important role in cars because it works in many ways to protect the passengers from danger and car accidents. One of the reasons why seatbelts are important is because seatbelts reduce the speed of a body of a passenger as it gets an experience of an abrupt decreasing of speed. Since the velocity of the car and the passenger is independent, even when the car crashed into a wall and the velocity suddenly decreases to zero, the body of a passenger will want to still move forwards. The second reason is that seatbelts prevent passengers from slamming parts of their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As people begin to acclimate to the idea of self driving cars, developers, such as Google, Tesla, Audi, and Nissan race to create the best, road ready, consumer ready vehicles that are able to navigate our streets independently. While I believe will soon be widely adopted by the young and old alike, the reality is these cars will be more expensive and may be difficult for your average joe to afford. This study examined administration and scoring errors made by graduate students when administering the Woodcock Johnson III Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJ III COG). In the past studies have been conducted on graduate student errors made on other assessment of cognitive abilities, such as the Wechsler Scales. This study s findings were similar to previous studies. The study participants consisted of 36 graduate students who attended a schoolpsychology program at a metropolitan university. There were 31 females and 5 males, of which there were 30 Caucasian, 4 Latino, 1 Asian and 1 African American. All of the students were first year students, enrolled in cognitive assessment courses taught by the same professor (Ramos, 2009, pp. 653). All students were required to administer the WJ III COG 4 times, first to a classmate, and then 3 more times to volunteers. The first administration for each student was not considered for the study, which produced 108 testing administrations. These administrations and scoreswere then examined by advanced level graduate students taught by the same professor. The instrument used for scoring the administrations was a checklist first created by Schermerhorn and Alfonso, and was designed to record the frequency and types of errors made during the administration and scoring of the test (Ramos, 2009, pp. 653). After each of the 108 tests were scored using the checklist, it was found that there were 500 errors made. While the mean ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Fiction There is nothing better than reading an interesting book, staying up all night and reading a good, fictional story until you fall asleep, and waking up early just to see how it end. A person s reason for enjoying fiction can differ but it is almost for the fact that fiction can make the reader feel as if they have been transported to another world. People read fictionfor the curiosity and authors can state/make points mixed with their own creativity. In class, we discuss authors and their messages hidden through their story s plot. The author s plot is often just a background for what the writeris really trying to get out to his audience. In order to escape from the drama or reality of life and enter a more interesting one, people read fiction to escape our world and enter someone else s. ...other times she needs to literally escape her own thoughts. So she turns to books (Monica M Clarks). Taking a break from work and school and taking time to just bury all your thoughts into a book is something that readers of all audiences would agree sounds rather enjoyable. Spreading quickly throughout Europe, with the innovation of the printing press, it caused rippling effects. The Renaissance ultimately altered the aged education of theology from the Dark Ages and renewed it with studies of more ancient, classic works. Classic art and literature grew extremely popular, contrasting the lack of interest in them before. Many artists became prominent advocates for the revival of the ideals of the classical past. The artists, using their masterpieces, tremendously determined how modern historians view the era. While several aspects of the Renaissance contributed and influenced the time, artists like MichelangeloBuonarroti, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raffaello Sanzio had a stronger effect on and are greater representations of the time. The species is native to southeast Asia and in its native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian, lizard, snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have established themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National Park(Boback et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of their introduction to the Evergladesas a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations have significantly increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since their introduction, preying on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious problem as an invasive species and apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the Burmese python has an immense impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20 years, observations of mammals in the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non native Burmese pythons in the park has significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). The same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of 1972. This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP, another radical group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September Organization attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had occupied their lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an act of revenge (Smith). However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today. In both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The question arises, what theoretical throughput different wireless standards can achieve, and how much the throughput will decrease when data has to be transferred over several hops. This is a technology that enables un tethered wireless networking environments where there is no wired or cellular infrastructure. Wireless Ad hoc Networks since then is a fast developing research area with a vast spectrum of applications.
