Are you paying attention?

I think I was….

Relience Digital:

     An electronic store.
 I had to return a router I had bought two days ago. So I had ended up spending more than
half an hour instead of just 15 mins.
 Open door with security guards at the door. A male and a female.
 Big lit up sign in Red and Purple with the reliance symbol.
 Floor and walls are pale/cream colored. (You don’t notice it because you are surrounded by
        more eye catching goods)
 The ceiling was 12 feet high and had spot lights on the ceiling.
     Two floors.
 Initially it was quite. Can hear a few media bits from TV and computer speakers around the
place. But later they played a Bollywood song “Tu mera hero”. I am guessing to demonstrate
        features of the sound system.
 The store had a comfortable temperature. Air conditioned but not too cold.
 Cash register was located near the entrance on the left and had two queuing lines in front
        of the cash desk.
 Store is not crowded at all. (6 costumers the whole time I was there)
 It takes less than a minute for a sales person to ask me what I want.
 It took between 5-10 mins to negotiate an exchange offer for the router.
 After a few suggestions of what I can purchase in its place I got taken to the grooming
        products upstairs.
 I picked up a pink Panasonic hair straighten-er and curler.
 All products were on display with their price and their new discounted price written in bold.
Made me want to buy everything because of how much I would’ve saved!
 There were no impulse items on the cash register table but were surrounding it. Like PSP
        accessories, Ipod holders/cases, headphones.
 There were at least 20 sales representatives in uniform and badges with their names on it
present. Costumer: Sales people :: 20:6 ( the store looked really empty maybe because it
        was still early evening)
 Products were grouped according to type and brand. (Apple products together, and other
products were clubbed as TVs, monitors, speaker, accessories etc.)

Health and glow

     The wellness store.
 Beauty and self grooming products.
 Closed door with pull and push signs.
 Security at door stamping bills.
    Floor: white tiles.
    Cramped space.
 15 sales people. Men and women. Mostly women. Like 4 men only.
 Attend to you as soon as you enter.
 Got the two things I needed immediately but it was annoying when she kept asking if I
wanted anything else more than 5 times followed by a list of products they offer.
       (Definitely scripted.)
 Products are grouped based on type not price or brand.
 A lot of impulse items at the cash counter. Made me want to pick up a key chain, chewing
gum, and tiny hand sanitizers even though I have enough of each. Tempting.
 Sales people dressed in uniforms spread out zone wise.
 6 other customers in the store. Waited for two to finish billing at the cash counter.

Addiction

    Small Boutique.
 Went to pick up blouses given for stitching.
    Six sewing machines.
    Four tailors. (3 women, 1 man)
 Floor was back and grey chess board.
    Walls were dull yellow.
 No other customers but there were a lot of old orders still not stitched.
 The billing lady was very engaging.
 They had a land line telephone connection. (Used to inform costumers about the status)
 Big shelf with finished blouses and floor had rags of cloth in different colors patterns and
       sizes.
 Addiction was written in thin slender font. Kinda make it look feminine I guess.

Park lane CTC

 Electronic shop in a big commercial complex
 A tiny 12 feet by 6 feet shop with all the items on display but cramped up.
 They did not have the item I wanted but it was available in the shop in 2 mins after one
phone call to someone(I think he called the shop beside)
 3 sales people (Only one of them active and engaging. The one at the counter counting
       money)
 I was the only customer there for the 15 mins I spent there waiting for the right adapter.
 Anil Electronics store. I didn’t notice the name of the store until I had left. Because I
entered it by just looking at the good on display.
 Door was open. Shop not air conditioned.
 Not an up market store but every handy. Very good networks.

United colors of Benetton

 What attracted me to the store was the winter collection block bright colors on display and
the store window with winter theme (snowflakes) on display.
 Typical Green UCB board. Lit up from the inside.
 As soon as you enter as a row of clothes and kept in parallel on hangers.
    4 attendants.
 Accessories for winter were adorable with multicolored and block color gloves and
       mufflers.

Puma

 Typical red and white puma with the symbol.
 Small store with 2 floors.
    6 sales people.
 The girl mannequin on display had the new a pink sweat shirt with a white shirt inside with
shorts. I can’t remember that the guy had on.
 Items were grouped according to type. Sports, Tshirts, Shoes on the entire wall on the left
as soon as enter, socks on a revolving settee near the billing counter, winter collection as
soon as you enter on the right.
 Girl’s wear was up stairs.
    No female Sales person.

Six stores in one day was quite exhausting especially for a person who doesn’t quite enjoy
shopping as much. I guess that’s why I started to notice less and less towards the end.
