 Digital Ethnography - The study of
ethnography in a digital environment. A
digital ethnographer researches the way
of life of the many virtual atmospheres.
I still feel like a beginner in the
vast digital world. I have
made friends and met
wonderful artists. I had a very
positive experience on
Second Life from this class.
 Data Collection - process of recording an occurrence and
collecting important information.
 Content Analysis - a search for conceptual themes or patterns of
meaning both scientific and emerging. Content analysis also entails
writing data summaries, clustering data to form relationships,
condensing information to the most significant meanings, and
writing stories
 Comparative Analysis - a process of interrelating findings or
explanations in one class session or several class sessions to form
[suppositions] propositional insights. Interrelation consists of both
internal analysis (within your own study) and external analysis
(comparisons with other cases and the related literature)
 Interpretation, a process of translation of text. The process of
interpretation is similar to a detective searching for clues and
establishing facts. Interpretation is concerned with uncovering the
multi-layered meanings of a phenomenon and understanding them
more deeply.
The sights and sound are very soothing. The outside is like a
meadow. I can hear the bird chirping and feel the butterflies flutter
past me. I can smell grass and wildflowers. The art gallery has an
open ceiling and no doors. It is very inviting. There are beautifully
harmonious colors all around. There are themed rooms that make
you feel like your in that season or celebrating a certain holiday.

suppose to interview an artist on Second Life and I found your work to be quite interesting. I only

artwork here is inspired from my photos

Studying the digital world is important in today’s world.
In Second Life, we are able to connect with people
from all over the world. It is an amazing place for
collaboration. In the digital world, you can be whoever
you want. It allows the creativity to be uninhibited.
These online communities are a culture all on their own.
 I was happily surpirsed with my Second
Life experience. I learned about
different kids of art and met many artists.
Before this class, I was unaware of the
academic applications of Second Life.

  • 2.  Digital Ethnography - The study of ethnography in a digital environment. A digital ethnographer researches the way of life of the many virtual atmospheres.
  • 3. I still feel like a beginner in the vast digital world. I have made friends and met wonderful artists. I had a very positive experience on Second Life from this class.
  • 4.  Data Collection - process of recording an occurrence and collecting important information.  Content Analysis - a search for conceptual themes or patterns of meaning both scientific and emerging. Content analysis also entails writing data summaries, clustering data to form relationships, condensing information to the most significant meanings, and writing stories  Comparative Analysis - a process of interrelating findings or explanations in one class session or several class sessions to form [suppositions] propositional insights. Interrelation consists of both internal analysis (within your own study) and external analysis (comparisons with other cases and the related literature)  Interpretation, a process of translation of text. The process of interpretation is similar to a detective searching for clues and establishing facts. Interpretation is concerned with uncovering the multi-layered meanings of a phenomenon and understanding them more deeply.

  • 7. The sights and sound are very soothing. The outside is like a meadow. I can hear the bird chirping and feel the butterflies flutter past me. I can smell grass and wildflowers. The art gallery has an open ceiling and no doors. It is very inviting. There are beautifully harmonious colors all around. There are themed rooms that make you feel like your in that season or celebrating a certain holiday.

  • 14. Studying the digital world is important in today’s world. In Second Life, we are able to connect with people from all over the world. It is an amazing place for collaboration. In the digital world, you can be whoever you want. It allows the creativity to be uninhibited. These online communities are a culture all on their own.
  • 15.  I was happily surpirsed with my Second Life experience. I learned about different kids of art and met many artists. Before this class, I was unaware of the academic applications of Second Life.
