6. Approaching the Inmost Cave
• In the first book, Percy finds a hole, like a
bottomless pit, in the underworld. That is the
entrance to Tartarus. In the third book of the
season series, he and Annabeth fall in to
Tartarus in order to save their friends, who
help them escape the pit later.
