The Aravalli Supergroup is a succession of low-grade metamorphosed sedimentary rocks from the Palaeoproterozoic era, spread over the northwest part of the Indian Shield and comprising various rock groups like Delwara, Udaipur, and Champaner. It has significant geological features bounded by major faults and is economically valuable for minerals such as gypsum, marble, and copper. The region contains fossils, indicating the presence of cyanobacteria, particularly in stromatolite formations.
