April Awards Assembly on Thursday. Please
join us as we recognize our many
accomplishments at 2:15. We have students
being recognized for Gentleness and
Humility, AM, and AR.

Marking Period – We only have a few
weeks left in the year! All grades have been
updated online.
ď‚§ Scholastic Book Orders- Book orders will be
arriving at the end of the week or the
beginning of next week.
ď‚§ Conference Time- Thank you for taking time
out of your busy schedules to meet with me
last week! I really enjoyed catching up with
you and sharing your child’s progress this
year!
ď‚§ MAP Test is coming up! We had to
postpone our MAP test today. We will be
fitting in our Reading test as soon as possible.
Students are eager to see how much they
have grown this year! We will be taking our
tests on Monday afternoons.

This Week’s AcademicsSpelling
We do have a 2-5-8 Menu this week. We also will be
practicing how we make singular nouns plural.
Reading
Today we continued reading the chapter book, Bridge
to Terabithia. Students should read chapters 8 and 9
tonight.
Writing
We are starting a small poetry unit, and we are also
reviewing the many parts of speech. This week we are
learning conjunctions. The most common
conjunctions are but, and, or. We will be practicing
conjunctions. We will also be writing haiku poems.
Haiku poems are three lined poems, and each line has
a set number of syllables. We will be writing poems
that include nature and help someone guess an
unknown object.
Math
We are reviewing several topics in Math this week.
Students need to make corrections to their math tests
and keep practicing their division!
Social Studies
We are wrapping up our unit on the Midwest Region.
Students will have a test over what they have learned
on Friday. We will identify the states of the region,
their capitals, and some of the key industries.
