The municipality of Rio de Janeiro, considered one of the most important ports of Brazil, has the largest hotel infrastructure in Latin America, with over 120,000 beds in the city. Currently explored by major international chains, it is an important link between the regions of greater economic importance for the country, such as the poles of São Paulo, Campinas and Santos. Extending over a total area of 1,255 km2 and with a population of over 6.7 million inhabitants, Rio de Janeiro has a GDP of R$370 billion and is the second largest economy in Brazil.
