This document discusses developing effective assessment of student professional outcomes as required by the Engineering Criteria 2000 (EC 2000). It describes an assessment method used at Michigan State University that imbeds assessment into regular coursework to minimize faculty and student effort. Specifically, it defines performance indicators for outcomes related to global context, lifelong learning, and contemporary issues. These are incorporated into classroom grading sheets that are used for both grading and outcomes assessment. This allows assessment to be seamlessly integrated into normal classroom activities with low effort for all involved.
