This document provides a table for students to research and fill in whether various software programs are application software or system software, and to identify the specific type of each program. The student is instructed to use the Internet to research over 20 different software programs and categorize them as either application or system software, and to further specify each as a word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, operating system, utility program, or language translator.
