INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(IT)

   Information technology (IT) is the application of
    computers and telecommunications equipment to
    store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data , often
    in the context of a business or other enterprise.
   The term is commonly used as a synonym for
    computers and computer networks, but it also
    encompasses      other     information    distribution
    technologies such as television and telephones.
   In a business context, the Information Technology
    Association of America has defined information
    technology as "the study, design, development,
    application, implementation, support or management
    of computer-based information systems"
INFORMATION
        TECHNOLOGY(IT)
The  number one benefit of information
 technology is that it empowers people to do
 what they want to do. It lets people be
 productive . It lets people learn things they
 did not think they could learn before and so in
 a sense it is all about potential.

ENGINEERING
 Engineering is the application of scientific, economic,
  social, and practical knowledge, in order to design,
  build, and maintain structures, machines, devices,
  systems, materials and processes.
 The American Engineers' Council for Professional
  Development (ECPD) has defined "engineering" as:
  The creative application of scientific principles to
  design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or
  manufacturing processes, or works utilizing them
  singly or in combination; or to construct or operate
  the same with full cognizance of their design; or to
  forecast their behavior under specific operating
  conditions; all as respects an intended function,
  economics of operation or safety to life and
  property.
MAIN BRANCHES OF ENGINEERING
 much    like other science, is a broad
  discipline which is often broken down into
  several sub-disciplines.
 Often it is characterized as having four
  main branches:
Chemical engineering
Civil engineering
Electrical engineering
Mechanical engineering
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING


   since the 90s we have increasingly seen a merger of
    the two fields, which is not only resulting in a rise in
    software engineering jobs but in the widespread
    adoption of computer-aided technologies into
    traditional engineering fields.
   One recent example of the incredible merger of
    computer technology and engineering was the use of
    computer simulations of origami models in order to
    assist in space satellite assembly and development.
    These computerized origami models have also been
    used in certain nanotechnological applications as well,
    including attempts to create more durable and
    sustainable materials and substances for
    manufacturing industries.
APPLICATION OF IT IN CHEMICAL
             ENGINEERING
  The application of physics, chemistry, biology,
  and engineering principles in order to carry out
  chemical processes on a commercial scale is
  Chemical engineering.
 applications  designing and managing plants,
  simplifying calculations and drawings, that
  previously had to be done manually.
 Supporting the activities during the life cycle of
  a chemical process by means of information
  technology.
APPLICATION OF IT IN CIVIL
               ENGINEERING
 The design and construction of
  public and private works, such as
  infrastructure (airports, roads,
  railways,     water     supply     and
  treatment etc.), bridges, dams, and
  buildings.
 The     application    of    planning,
  designing, constructing, maintaining,
  calculations, including structural
  design, geometry calculations, and
  applications        for        project
  management.
APPLICATION OF IT IN ELECTRICAL
                ENGINEERING
   The design and study of various electrical
    and electronic systems, such as electrical
    circuits,       generators,         motors,
    electromagnetic     devices,     electronic
    circuits,  optical    fibers,     computer
    systems, telecommunications, etc is
    known as Electrical Engineering.
   Advantage of the speed of computer
    analysis, the engineer can explore a
    greater number of design options in a
    short period of time. It allows an
    engineer to make immediate comparisons
    and see the impact of each.
APPLICATION OF IT IN MECHANICAL
              ENGINEERING
 The design of physical or mechanical systems,
  such    as    power    and     energy     systems,
  aerospace/aircraft products, weapon systems,
  transportation products engines, compressors,
  power    trains,   kinematic     chains,   vacuum
  technology, and vibration isolation equipment.
 Test new products without building expensive
  prototype and use of visualization technology to
  transform data into image or environment.
COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN(CAD)
   An increasing popular tool for product
    design.
    computer    programs      or    integrated
    packages for workstation hardware and
    software and that allow the user to draw
    and easily modify product design on a
    computer screen.
   used to design curves and figures in two-
    dimensional (2D) space; or curves,
    surfaces, and solids in three-dimensional
    (3D) space.
   can be used for the variety of tools for
    measurement such as tensile strength,
    yield strength, also its stress and strain
    and how the element gets affected in
    certain temperatures.
COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING
The use of computer software
 to control machine tools and
 related        machinery       in
 the    manufacturing     process
 programming tool, where in two-
 dimensional(2D)or          three
 dimensional (3D) models of
 components.
 ease of use, has zooming
 feature whereby designer can
 magnify certain element of
 model for inspection which
 decrease Manufacturing
 complexity.
CONCLUSION
 Lastly,IT has helped a lot in the
 field of Engineering. Without IT
 work of engineers will be time
 consuming, costly and not much
 efficient.
 IThas helped to test,design ,maintain and
 simulate problems for engineers.

  • 2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(IT)  Information technology (IT) is the application of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data , often in the context of a business or other enterprise.  The term is commonly used as a synonym for computers and computer networks, but it also encompasses other information distribution technologies such as television and telephones.  In a business context, the Information Technology Association of America has defined information technology as "the study, design, development, application, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems"
  • 3. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(IT) The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be productive . It lets people learn things they did not think they could learn before and so in a sense it is all about potential. -Steve Ballmer
  • 4. ENGINEERING  Engineering is the application of scientific, economic, social, and practical knowledge, in order to design, build, and maintain structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes.  The American Engineers' Council for Professional Development (ECPD) has defined "engineering" as: The creative application of scientific principles to design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, or works utilizing them singly or in combination; or to construct or operate the same with full cognizance of their design; or to forecast their behavior under specific operating conditions; all as respects an intended function, economics of operation or safety to life and property.
  • 5. MAIN BRANCHES OF ENGINEERING  much like other science, is a broad discipline which is often broken down into several sub-disciplines.  Often it is characterized as having four main branches: Chemical engineering Civil engineering Electrical engineering Mechanical engineering
  • 6. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING  since the 90s we have increasingly seen a merger of the two fields, which is not only resulting in a rise in software engineering jobs but in the widespread adoption of computer-aided technologies into traditional engineering fields.  One recent example of the incredible merger of computer technology and engineering was the use of computer simulations of origami models in order to assist in space satellite assembly and development. These computerized origami models have also been used in certain nanotechnological applications as well, including attempts to create more durable and sustainable materials and substances for manufacturing industries.
  • 7. APPLICATION OF IT IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING  The application of physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering principles in order to carry out chemical processes on a commercial scale is Chemical engineering.  applications designing and managing plants, simplifying calculations and drawings, that previously had to be done manually.  Supporting the activities during the life cycle of a chemical process by means of information technology.
  • 8. APPLICATION OF IT IN CIVIL ENGINEERING  The design and construction of public and private works, such as infrastructure (airports, roads, railways, water supply and treatment etc.), bridges, dams, and buildings.  The application of planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, calculations, including structural design, geometry calculations, and applications for project management.
  • 9. APPLICATION OF IT IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING  The design and study of various electrical and electronic systems, such as electrical circuits, generators, motors, electromagnetic devices, electronic circuits, optical fibers, computer systems, telecommunications, etc is known as Electrical Engineering.  Advantage of the speed of computer analysis, the engineer can explore a greater number of design options in a short period of time. It allows an engineer to make immediate comparisons and see the impact of each.
  • 10. APPLICATION OF IT IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING  The design of physical or mechanical systems, such as power and energy systems, aerospace/aircraft products, weapon systems, transportation products engines, compressors, power trains, kinematic chains, vacuum technology, and vibration isolation equipment.  Test new products without building expensive prototype and use of visualization technology to transform data into image or environment.
  • 11. COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN(CAD)  An increasing popular tool for product design.  computer programs or integrated packages for workstation hardware and software and that allow the user to draw and easily modify product design on a computer screen.  used to design curves and figures in two- dimensional (2D) space; or curves, surfaces, and solids in three-dimensional (3D) space.  can be used for the variety of tools for measurement such as tensile strength, yield strength, also its stress and strain and how the element gets affected in certain temperatures.
  • 12. COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING The use of computer software to control machine tools and related machinery in the manufacturing process programming tool, where in two- dimensional(2D)or three dimensional (3D) models of components.  ease of use, has zooming feature whereby designer can magnify certain element of model for inspection which decrease Manufacturing complexity.
  • 13. CONCLUSION  Lastly,IT has helped a lot in the field of Engineering. Without IT work of engineers will be time consuming, costly and not much efficient.  IThas helped to test,design ,maintain and simulate problems for engineers.
