GODS ONENESS
The Accepted Trinity
TRINITY DEFINED The dogma of the Trinity The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion – the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons, being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed; "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God." In this Trinity of Persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. Yet, notwithstanding this difference as to origin, the Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent. This, the Church teaches, is the revelation regarding God's nature which Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came upon earth to deliver to the world: and which she proposes to man as the foundation of her whole dogmatic system.

The scriptures conflict with this definition : John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man .

This is a study of : DISCOVERing GOD! 1 Who God is!
Various views on God GOD is... 1 One! GOD is... God is.... Two Three
The Trinity teaches that: GOD is... Three
Latter day Saints say: GOD is... Two
Apostolic Pentecostals say that : GOD is... 1 One!
Two characteristics that are Factual: GOD is... 1 One! GOD is... Spirit
So let’s see what the Scriptures say: Scriptures affirm both the “ oneness ” of God’s being and the “ One-ness ” of God’s person !
Scriptures on “oneness” Deut. 6:4 The LORD our God, the LORD is one . 1 Cor. 8:4 There is no God but one . James 2:19 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! 1
Scriptures against the “plurality of gods” Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me.” Isaiah 44:6 I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God.” The Father is called God: 1 Cor 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God.” The Father is called God: Eph 4:6 (there is) one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God” The Son is called God: John 1:1 In the be- ginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God” The Son is called God: John 10:30 I and the Father are one." Rom 9:5 Christ, who is God over all forever praised!
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God” The Son is called God: Col 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God” The Holy Spirit is called God: Acts 5:3 you have lied to the Holy Spirit … 5:4 … You have not lied to men but to God.
Three different manifestations are called the same “one God” The Holy Spirit is called God: 1 Cor 2:11 ... no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The Athanasian Trinity teaches the three manifestations are distinct from each other -- Mt 3:16-17
The Apostolic Trinity teach the three manifestations are identified as the same entity -- Mt 28:19-20 3 TITLES In the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit 1
The Oneness teach the three manifestations are identified as the same entity -- Mt 28:19-20 3 JESUS IS THAT NAME Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. In the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit 1
The Oneness teach the three manifestations are identified as the same entity -- Mt 28:19-20 3 Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. In the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit 1

Athanasian Creed says Within the one essence of God there are three distinct persons Who are co- existent , co- equal , and co- eternal . But what does the bible say? In Creation God was Manifest as the Father: Creation: Father: Source 1 Cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
In redemption God was Manifest in the Son: Redemption: Son: Died for us Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
In Salvation God was Manifest is us as the Holy Spirit : Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Today God is manifest as the Holy Spirit: Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 1 Co. 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
God had a role in: Redemption: Father: Chose us Son: Died for us Holy Spirit: Indwelt us John 3:3,5
One One Same Spirit in three manifestations ! There is no con- tradiction in His characteristics. Because ... GOD is...
Unique None like Him: Isaiah 46:9 I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me . GOD is...
Conclusion 2 Cor. 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
