After root canal surgery, patients may experience temporary swelling, minor pain, and skin discoloration. To reduce swelling, use an ice pack for the first few hours after surgery. For the first 3 days, rinse the treated area with lukewarm water after meals and get plenty of rest. Avoid hard foods and do not sleep on the operated area for 2-3 days. Take any prescribed medications as directed and contact the dentist if any difficulties arise.
