Annie Leibovitz is an American photographer born in 1949 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She began taking photographs during her father's military service in the Philippines. She studied painting and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute. After jobs in Israel and at Rolling Stone magazine, she became a prolific portrait photographer, photographing celebrities and musicians for Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone. Some of her most famous subjects included John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Bruce Springsteen, and Queen Elizabeth II.
