1. Spending the summer of 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark was by far the best decision of my college career, if
not my life. Six weeks nestled in the most bustling city of Scandinavia changed me a thousand times for the
better. I grew immensely as I was forced to be independent and learned more about myself than I ever
expected to. DIS provided an incredible hands-on learning experience that is unrivaled here in the United
States. From climbing a three hundred foot wind turbine in my Renewable Energy Systems class to exploring a
Cold War bunker deep underground, I gained authentic experiences that
connected me to my studies like never before. In just six weeks I made lifelong
friends, traveled across Europe, and had my eyes opened to so many new ways of
life. I returned and couldn’t stop dreaming of all the things I could do in a semester
given how much I’d done in just a month and a half. So thanks to an incredible
summer, I’m once again off to Europe to spend the spring of 2016 in Bilbao, Spain
in search of more incredible experiences!
