This document provides instructions for using Animoto, a presentation tool that allows users to create videos by mixing together pictures, video clips, text, and music. It describes how teachers can use Animoto to create engaging content for their classrooms, such as unit openers, presentations, and vocabulary reviews. The document outlines the three-step process to get started with Animoto: 1) Register for a free educator account on their website; 2) Your account will initially be limited but will upgrade once approved; 3) Upload multimedia content, add text, choose a song, and produce the video.

Animoto is a presentation tool that allows users to add pictures, video clips, text and
music (from your personal collection or Animoto’s extensive library) and Animoto will
mix them together to create an ‘MTV-style’ video. What can Animoto do in your
classroom? A unit opener to pique students’ interest, a presentation for Open House, a
culminating project for in any class or a snazzy way to review vocabulary – Animoto can
do it.
1) Get Registered
 Go to http://animoto.com/education in your preferred browser.
 Click ‘Apply Now’
o If you already have an account, sign in. If you don’t, sign up as a new
user. Once you’re signed in, you will be taken to the Education
Application.

2) Your Account
 You now have an Animoto lite account, which limits you to 30-second videos,
until your application is approved.
 Once approved, you will receive an email that includes your promotion code to
convert your account to Animoto plus and to use for up to 50 Animoto accounts
for your students and/or colleagues.
***Students will need an email address to create an account on Animoto. If your school
provides email addresses for students, they can use those. If you need email addresses,
you can use the Gmail +1 method to create one main account with “dummy” accounts for
students to use. Click here for more information on how to do that.
3. Using Animoto
 Upload your pictures and/or video clips, add any text you’d like, choose your
song and ‘Produce Video’.
