This document provides a brief history of animation milestones from 1908 to 2013. It notes that Emile Cohl created the first animated film in 1908 by drawing each frame by hand. In the 1920s, the multiplane camera was introduced, allowing for layered animation. In 1937, Walt Disney produced Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first feature-length animated film. In the 1950s, Hanna-Barbera created the first primetime animated television show. Xerography was adapted for animation in the 1940s and computers began being used for animation in the 1970s, with Pixar's Toy Story being the first computer animated feature film in 1995.
