3. FIRST MOTION PICTURE
 In 1878, Eadweard Muybridge created the Horse in Motion. This
also proved that when a horse is running, there is a point where all 4
hooves leave the ground.

4. SILENT FILMS
 Produced by Thomas Edison but directed
and filmed by Edwin S. Porter, The Great
Train Robbery was the first movie that told a
story in 1903. The film is a classic western
film with four bandits who rob a train and its
passengers and then make their grand escape
only to be killed in a shootout by a posse sent
after them. Type of films like this were black
and white and silent.

5. FIRST MOVIE WITH SOUND
 Don Juan(1926) was the first major motion picture (3 hours long)
to have a synchronized sound system of any type throughout the
whole movie. It contained a music and sound effects, but no recorded
dialogue. In other words, it’s a silent film with sound.
 The first feature-length movie with dialogue was The Jazz Singer
(1927).

6. FIRST MOVIE WITH COLOR
 The first full length movie to use color was The World, The Flesh
And The Devil from 1914 using Kinemacolor.
 The Wizard of Oz (1939) used Technicolor. It started out in black
and white then changed into color to give it the “over the rainbow”
effect.

 Technicolour was invented by Herbert T. Kalmus in 1917.

 The Power of Love is considered the first 3D movie, made in 1922

and, after proving that Alvarez is a thief and a killer, weds O'Neil.
