SPECIAL REPORT ON 12 A, 80-G AND FCRA APPLICATIONS FOR
ANEC INCOME TAX EXEMPTION AND FUND RAISING FOR THE
LONG TERM FUTURE TREMENDOUS ACHIEVEMENT MADE BY
ANEC TO THE PLEASANT SURPRISE OF ALL ANEC
MEMBERS(December 2010)
As a substantial result of the ANEC Executive Director Tenpa C.
Samkhar's tireless and frequent follow-up meetings and repeated reminders
to the ANEC Auditor and Accounts advisor Mr. Rana (Chartered
Accountant),ANEC surprisingly obtained the 12 A Certificate from the
Himachal State Income Tax Department. ANEC Auditor cum Account
Advisor Mr. Rana congratulated ANEC for this huge achievement made by
ANEC within the space of such a short period while many other Tibetan
and Indian NGO's five times older then ANEC are still struggling for the
obtainment of the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government.
ANEC has obtained the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government
following the Indian Government's thorough examination and
scrutinization of all ANEC audited Accounts Balance Sheets, all
complementary messages received by ANEC including messages from His
Holiness The Dalai lama, the Himachal State Governor, Himachal State
Tourism Minister, Tibetan Parliament Speaker and Kalon Tripa Professor
Samdhong Rinpoche.
ANEC received the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government primarily
as a result of all ANEC activities on spreading and promoting the
message of Love, Compassion, Peace and Nonviolence so far.
The 12 A Permit is the most important pre-requisite document for the
application of the FCRA Permit for receiving funds from abroad.
The 12 A permit is the certificate required for income tax exemption for
donation received by ANEC from within India.
The 12 A Permit which ANEC has received, therefore, recognizes
ANEC as a Non- Profit Oriented Trust dedicated to love, compassion,
peace and nonviolence.
The 12 A Permit which ANEC has received just two weeks back, is
therefore, considered a very big achievement by ANEC.
Many much older Tibetan NGO's including even the Human Rights
Center that was set up some 18 years back have still not been able to
obtain the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government. The Conflict
Resolution Center set up over 10 years back have very fortunately been
able to obtain the 12 A Permit just about a month before ANEC and
they consider themselves very lucky to have obtained the 12 A Permit
from the Indian Government.
APPLICATION FOR THE 80-G PERMIT IS THE NEXT VERY
IMPORTANT LEGAL STEP BEFORE THE FINAL ANEC FCRA
APPLICATION
The next very important legal step for ANEC funds is the application for the
80-G Permit from the Government of India. The 80-G Permit once obtained
will exempt income taxes for those who donate funds for ANEC from inside
India.
The moment ANEC obtains the 80-G Permit from the Government of India;
ANEC can immediately start the online fund raising from inside India.
Our Chartered Accountant Auditor cum Accounts Advisor Mr. Rana told us
that we may obtain the 80-G Permit within a year's period at the most.
We are now working very hard to apply for the 80-G Permit and making
frequent visits to our Accounts Advisor Mr. Rana and also taking the
other necessary legal steps for the 80-G Permit.
No Registered NGO is entitled to apply for the FCRA Permit without
having obtained the 12 A and 80-G Permits. We, therefore, need to
continue working real hard for the 80-G application process and for this
very important and crucial task we will have to visit the Himachal State
capital -Shimla a couple of times to meet with the concerned Indian
Government income tax Authorities and perhaps Indian Government
Authorities in New Delhi as well.

SPECIAL REPORT ON 12 A, 80-G AND FCRA APPLICATIONS FOR ANEC INCOME TAX EXEMPTION AND FUND RAISING FOR THE LONG TERM FUTURE TREMENDOUS ACHIEVEMENT MADE BY ANEC TO THE PLEASANT SURPRISE OF ALL ANEC MEMBERS(December 2010) As a substantial result of the ANEC Executive Director Tenpa C. Samkhar's tireless and frequent follow-up meetings and repeated reminders to the ANEC Auditor and Accounts advisor Mr. Rana (Chartered Accountant),ANEC surprisingly obtained the 12 A Certificate from the Himachal State Income Tax Department. ANEC Auditor cum Account Advisor Mr. Rana congratulated ANEC for this huge achievement made by ANEC within the space of such a short period while many other Tibetan and Indian NGO's five times older then ANEC are still struggling for the obtainment of the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government. ANEC has obtained the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government following the Indian Government's thorough examination and scrutinization of all ANEC audited Accounts Balance Sheets, all complementary messages received by ANEC including messages from His Holiness The Dalai lama, the Himachal State Governor, Himachal State Tourism Minister, Tibetan Parliament Speaker and Kalon Tripa Professor Samdhong Rinpoche.
  • 10. ANEC received the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government primarily as a result of all ANEC activities on spreading and promoting the message of Love, Compassion, Peace and Nonviolence so far. The 12 A Permit is the most important pre-requisite document for the application of the FCRA Permit for receiving funds from abroad. The 12 A permit is the certificate required for income tax exemption for donation received by ANEC from within India. The 12 A Permit which ANEC has received, therefore, recognizes ANEC as a Non- Profit Oriented Trust dedicated to love, compassion, peace and nonviolence. The 12 A Permit which ANEC has received just two weeks back, is therefore, considered a very big achievement by ANEC. Many much older Tibetan NGO's including even the Human Rights Center that was set up some 18 years back have still not been able to obtain the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government. The Conflict Resolution Center set up over 10 years back have very fortunately been able to obtain the 12 A Permit just about a month before ANEC and they consider themselves very lucky to have obtained the 12 A Permit from the Indian Government. APPLICATION FOR THE 80-G PERMIT IS THE NEXT VERY IMPORTANT LEGAL STEP BEFORE THE FINAL ANEC FCRA APPLICATION The next very important legal step for ANEC funds is the application for the 80-G Permit from the Government of India. The 80-G Permit once obtained will exempt income taxes for those who donate funds for ANEC from inside India. The moment ANEC obtains the 80-G Permit from the Government of India; ANEC can immediately start the online fund raising from inside India. Our Chartered Accountant Auditor cum Accounts Advisor Mr. Rana told us that we may obtain the 80-G Permit within a year's period at the most.
  • 11. We are now working very hard to apply for the 80-G Permit and making frequent visits to our Accounts Advisor Mr. Rana and also taking the other necessary legal steps for the 80-G Permit. No Registered NGO is entitled to apply for the FCRA Permit without having obtained the 12 A and 80-G Permits. We, therefore, need to continue working real hard for the 80-G application process and for this very important and crucial task we will have to visit the Himachal State capital -Shimla a couple of times to meet with the concerned Indian Government income tax Authorities and perhaps Indian Government Authorities in New Delhi as well.
