2. Problem Statement
• Inventory checking is one of the most critical
tasks for retail businesses
• Current retail stores still use traditional
approach of manual counting to perform
inventory check
• Human nature can cause inventory checking
errors
• Today’s technology is capable of automating
such a critical task at quite affordable costs
with great accuracy and efficiency

4. RFID Technology
• One of the auto ID technologies, e.g.,
barcode, fingerprint, magnetic stripe
• Employs both security advantage of RF
and identification advantage of barcode
• Consists of RFID reader, RFID tag, and
application
• Can be applied for many applications,
including access control, security,
payment system, and etc.

ความถี่ 13.56MHz เพื่อชวยใหผูพิการทางสายตาหรือผูสูงอายุสามารถโทรศัพทไปยัง
บุคคลใกลชิด หรือโทรศัพทไปยังหมายเลขฉุกเฉินตางๆ เชน โรงพยาบาล สถานีตํารวจ
และสถานีดับเพลิง โดยไมจําเปนตองเขาสูเมนูตางๆ ของระบบฯ หรือจําเลขหมายเหลานั้น
โดยการใชเครื่องอาน RFID ทําการสแกนแท็ก RFID

• System was
evaluated by real
retail clothing stores
for its usability,
functionality,
accuracy, and
performance

18. Conclusion
• RFID technology could be adopted by
retail businesses to help facilitate
inventory checking with much efficiency
• The solution could help reduce inventory
checking duration and reduce labor cost
• The solution could provide better inventory
accuracy and eliminate human-proned
checking

19. Future works
• Automatic item ordering with supplier
when its quantity is below a preset value
• Back-end database linkage for real-time
product information retrieval and backup,
and report generation
• Automatic social network publication of
newly added items for marketing purpose
• Implement system using UHF RFID
standard to enhance read range
