And the Floods Came Up!
300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits tall
It rained for 40 days and 40 nights but
Noah and his family were on the ark
about a year
So we all came from Noah and one of his
sons – from which son did you descend?
“It [the whole earth] was not overwhelmed
with a deluge of waters till it had first been
immersed in the pollution of
wickedness...that wickedness was too
deeply seated in their hearts, to leave any
hope of repentance.” ~ John Calvin
And God said, “See, I
have given you every
herb that yields seed
which is on the face
of all the earth, and
every tree whose
fruit yields seed; to
you it shall be for
food. Also, to every
beast of the earth,
to every bird of the
air, and to
everything that
creeps on the earth,
in which there is
life, I have given
every green herb for
food”; and it was so.
Genesis 1:29,30
And the fear of you
and the dread of you
shall be on every
beast of the earth,
on every bird of the
air, on all that move
on the earth, and on
all the fish of the
sea. They are given
into your hand.
Every moving thing
that lives shall be
food for you. I have
given you all things,
even as the green
herbs. Genesis 9:2,3
The flood from God’s view
Genesis 6:5 - Then the LORD saw that
the wickedness of man was great in
the earth, and that every intent of the
thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually.
The flood from God’s view
Genesis 6:11 - The earth also was
corrupt before God, and the earth was
filled with violence.
The flood from God’s view
Genesis 6:12 - So God looked upon the
earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all
flesh had corrupted their way on the
earth.
Genesis 6:7-9
7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man
whom I have created from the face of
the earth, both man and beast, creeping
thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry
that I have made them.”
Genesis 6:7-9
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the
LORD. 9 This is the genealogy of Noah.
Noah was a just man, perfect in his
generations. Noah walked with God.
The flood from Noah’s view
Do everything that God commands!
The flood from Noah’s view
Genesis 6:22 - Thus Noah did;
according to all that God
commanded him, so he did.
The flood from Noah’s view
Genesis 7:5 - And Noah did
according to all that the LORD
commanded him.
The flood from Noah’s view
Do everything that God commands!
Worship God for His mercy and
deliverance
The flood from Noah’s view
Genesis 8:20 - Then Noah built an altar
to the LORD, and took of every clean
animal and of every clean bird, and
offered burnt offerings on the altar.
The flood from Noah’s view
Do everything that God commands!
Worship God for His mercy and
deliverance
Live by faith and godly fear
The flood from Noah’s view
Hebrews 11:7 - By faith Noah, being divinely
warned of things not yet seen, moved with
godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his
household, by which he condemned the world
and became heir of the righteousness which is
according to faith.
2Peter 2:5
… and did not spare the ancient world,
but saved Noah, one of eight people, a
preacher of righteousness, bringing in
the flood on the world of the ungodly.
The flood from humanity’s view
When Jesus returns, the world will be
like it was in the days of Noah!
The flood from humanity’s view
Luke 17:26,27 - 26 And as it was in the days
of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the
Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they
married wives, they were given in marriage,
until the day that Noah entered the ark, and
the flood came and destroyed them all.
The flood from humanity’s view
When Jesus returns, the world will be
like it was in the days of Noah!
The result will be the same as it was in
Lot’s day
The flood from humanity’s view
Luke 17:28-30 - 28 Likewise as it was also in the
days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought,
they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the
day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man
is revealed.
The flood from humanity’s view
When Jesus returns, the world will be like it
was in the days of Noah!
The result will be the same as it was in
Lot’s day
Those that disobey God will be punished!
2Thessalonians 1:7b-9
… when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven
with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking
vengeance on those who do not know God, and on
those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the presence of the
Lord and from the glory of His power …
