God created the heavens and the earth over the course of six days according to the book of Genesis. Each day God created a new aspect of the world - on the first day light, on the second day the sky, on the third day land and plants, on the fourth day stars and the sun/moon, on the fifth day fish and birds, and on the sixth day land animals and humans. God saw that all his creations were good. On the seventh day God rested from his work.
