DEFINITION
• Analytical exposition is a text that elaborates the
writer’s idea about the phenomenon surrounding.
This text is part of argumentative text because it
shows an opinion or argument against something
SOCIAL FUNCTION AND GENERIC
STRUCTURE
• social function of this text is to persuade the reader that the idea is important
matter.
• Generic structure
1) Thesis : Introducing the topic and indicating the writer’s position
2) Arguments: Explaining the arguments to support the writer’s position. The
number of arguments may vary, but each argument must be supported by
evidence and explanation.
3) Reiteration: Restating the writer’s position
Language Features
• Using relational process
• Using internal conjunction
• Using causal conjunction
• Using Simple Present Tense
• Using compound and complex sentence.
• Use word that link argument, such as firstly, secondly, and reasoning
through causal conjunction, such as in addition, furthermore, however,
therefore.
‘The power of Love in our life’
Do you agree that love is important for every human survival? Yes, I do. Love
is an emotion that born from compassion. Love has elements, namely fondness
and intimacy. Love has an important role in our life. Here are some reasons
why love is needed by everyone in everywhere. First, love is a form of care.
When we are sad or even when we are happy, we need a care from another.
Because, we do not want to feel all alone, we certainly want to share what we
feel. Can you imagine how hard if we have to go through all alone? In addition,
love is a crucial need. Love can give us spirit for survive from our problems. We
cannot life without love. If we do not have someone to be loved, automatically
our life would feel empty. Love also encourages us to help others, keep us far
from fear and insecurity. Furthermore, love is needed to live in society. Love
can unite us and protect each other. Love makes us not to hurt other people.
So, what would the world be like without love? It would be scary.
