Analysing ‘Smack My Bitch
Up’ By Prodigy
What Camera Shot Is Being
Used?
 In this video the only shot used is a point of view shot, this is
effective because it never reveals the identity of the person
doing everything but simply what they are doing. Their
behaviour is very inappropriate and it allows the audience to
build their own judgement and stereotype on who the character
    is.
 This then adds the shock factor at the end, when it is 99%
guarantueed that the consumer did not expect the character to
be a female. This then becomes a topic of converstation, which
means more people will want to watch it to fit in and therefore
    make more sales.
What Sounds Are Used?
 In the video you see a CD being put in at the
beginning and that starts the music off,
however the narrative cleverly allows the
audience to lose themselves in it and not
even think anything of it when the character
leaves the house and it’s still playing. There
are also a lot of ambient noises such as the
toilet flushing, the water running in the shower
and the police sirens, which adds to the
narrative yet cleverly doesn’t take the
    emphasis off the actual song.
