In recent years, an influx of investment funding in
American businesses has come from China. From
2000 to 2013, Chinese investments grew
exponentially, soaring from $58 million to $14 billion.
The same traction was seen in EB-5 visa filings. In
2014 alone, 85 percent of applicants filing for
conditional permanent residence in the United States
through the EB-5 visa program were from China.
3. The reason for growth weighs heavily on Chinese
investors’ perception that the U.S. market is safer.
Specifically, the real estate market is a draw.
In analyzing the growth of Chinese investments
stateside, the president of the National Committee on
US-China Relations released a statement with CNBC.
He addressed the positive impacts of Chinese interest
in American-based businesses, which has created
approximately 75,000 jobs. With billions of dollars in
contracts from Chinese investors that employ a
predominantly American workforce, he anticipates the
number to grow into the hundreds of thousands in the
coming years.
