The paper presents DAS, a decentralized security protocol designed to mitigate the impact of sybil attacks in distributed networks, particularly in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). DAS enhances trust management by limiting the number of identities a malicious user can create and ensures that sybil identities are effectively contained through unique trust relationships among nodes. The protocol leverages verifiable random walks in the network graph to maintain security and is evaluated through extensive simulations demonstrating its effectiveness against various malicious behaviors.
