businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of
methane, and 20% of the nitrous oxide emissions. The increase in agriculture, deforestation, landfills,

If too many greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere, too much heat will become trapped
and the Earth's temperature will rise. Since the use of the beforementioned have become more
frequent, the parts per million (ppm) of atmospheric greenhouse gases have risen, too.
The negative effects of this rise is frightening, and may start effecting the planet very soon. When
the planet warms, glaciers, and polar ice caps melt causing a rise in sea level. The melting of
glaciers also removes many people of their clean water because 80% of all the people on Earth
depend on the run–off from glaciers. The rise in sea level floods coast lines, destroying homes and

Global Warming is an important ecological issue and has many negative effects upon our
environment. Global Warming, or what has been called the Greenhouse effect, is the result of a
fourfold ecological process. 1–Sunlight radiates from the sun, through space, to Earth's atmosphere.
2– The sunlight enters the atmosphere and hits Earth. Some of it turns into heat energy in the form

industrial activities, and the cutting down of forests have all played a significant role in the spread
of these gases.
These, and other human practices, have changed the chemical make up of the atmosphere. Between
pre–industrial times and today, carbon dioxide concentrations have been on the rise. With these
higher levels of gas concentration in our atmosphere the Earth's climate is slowing changing for the
