Global warming is an increase in the earth's temperature due to fossil fuels, industry, and agricultural
processes caused by human, natural, and other gas emissions. (Melissa Phillips). This results in an
increased emission of greenhouse gases. (Caroline Quatman). Short–wave solar radiation sinks into
the Earth's atmosphere and warms its surface; while longwave infrared radiation emitted by earth's
surface is absorbed, and then re–emitted by trace gases. (Brent C. Willhoite)
Climate changes occur in our earth's atmosphere due to a buildup of greenhouse gases.

These gases trap heat and cause the greenhouse effect, rising global temperatures.(Heidi Sterrett).
Human activities add to the levels of these gasses, causing more problems. The burning of solid
waste, fossil fuels, and wood products are major causes. Automobiles, heat from homes and
businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide emissions, 25% of
methane, and 20% of the nitrous oxide emissions. The increase in agriculture, deforestation, landfills,
industrial production, and mining contribute a significant share of emissions too The gases released
into the atmosphere are tracked by emission inventories. An emission inventory counts the amount of
air pollutants discharged into the atmosphere. These emission inventories are used by many
organizations. NASA and meteorologists also use them.(Heidi Sterrett).
The Centers for Disease Control have been involved in studying global warming's effect on human
health. Global warming is a danger to a human's health. Its affect on climate can adversely affect
humans. Plagues have been attributed to global warming. An increase in temperature can result in
a longer life cycle for diseases or the agents spreading them. Living in a warm area makes egg
production a quicker process. Global warming will lead to more precipitation, which enables
infectious diseases to be more easily contracted and spread.

Global warming has many pro's or people who believe global warming exists not because it is a
good thing. People who believe global warming exists and want to fix the problem as soon as
possible because it may cause a catastrophe. Al Gore and the IPCC are the main people who believe
global warming may change our lives and sometimes create an illusion that it is our fault. There are
many examples that it may be so like a hot summer in Edmonton, no negative temperature days in
Glasgow, Montana however, other phenomenon like record snowfalls contradicts the existence of
global warming. Even still many more occurrences that suggest global warming is real are: a 1998

On the contrary others believe global warming is non–existent. They believe it is normal activity and
the temperature will go back down sometime. As shown in Al Gore's "hockey stick", they may be
exaggerating the truth. (See appendix 2) It also shows that the temperature was at its warmest in
the 1000's and from then up to just before now the temperature has decreased. In the last few
years it has risen like it has many times before. Many of these people believe it is a scam or a
hoax. One thing I found was on my list of evidence of global warming that some evidence was
heavy rainfall but that doesn't necessarily mean that the earth is warming. One example of the
opposition to global warming is when one of my sources said: "Shame on you, Al Gore, for
playing on people's emotions to drive support for your enormous $45 trillion carbon tax hoax." (I
love C02). Many usually mild cities during winter were cooler than usual this year. A large amount
of snow fell on D.C. and cancelled a meeting for global warming. Even still Al Gore still preaches
that global warming exists and that we are at fault. When many of the world's highest experienced

It is important that governments and people solve the Global Warming problem by decreasing
buildings and greenhouses emissions, cutting down industrial waste heat, and encouraging people to
use biofuel in their vehicles. Researchers have found the three main sources of Global Warming:
human activities (that is caused by their daily activities and its impacts on people's lives) and
natural factors (which are caused by the chemical and physical impacts of natural sources) (Roleff
57– 61). To be precise, there are two kinds of human sources such as heat and gases emissions that
are produced from buildings and greenhouses and heat losses that come from power plants and
factories. Buildings and greenhouses emissions are heat and gases emitted from any buildings and
houses activities like air–conditioning, using gas for houses and buildings activities, the radiation
that come from the electrical equipment. All these reasons have largely impacted the earth's weather
due to increasing the proportion of carbon dioxide (Co2). Many researchers argue that buildings and
greenhouses emissions offer some benefits to the earth's weather and environment because they
believe that there is only a small amount of emissions in the earth's atmosphere which keep the
balance of weather on the earth (Walker & King 12). The air–conditioning systems in summer
absorb hot air from buildings and greenhouses and project it directly into

Essay about Global Warming is Real
There are many different views on whether global warming is actually real or not and possible
catastrophic damage it causes. It is a big issue in politics now, everyone is arguing whether or not
it is actually real or that it is just a weather pattern. People need to wake up and realize that it is
real, just look at the shorter winters and the warmer weather. The Glaciers are melting, crazy
weather patterns are happening, so what else could it be? We have more things to worry about as a
government though. There are all kinds of facts on whether or not Global Warming is real, but Its
doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the planet is warming. "The year 2012 ranked as the
eighth–warmest year on record, according to the National...show more content...
Some causes of global warming are pollution, solar activity, CO2 emission, SUV use, Radiation
from earth's core, and many others. "Sport utility vehicles (SUVs) contribute significantly to
pollution and global warming, according to the following view–point from the Sierra Club. Because
the emit more carbon dioxide than do cars, SUVs contribute more to the greenhouse effect, which
raises the temperature of the Earth. Although the technology exists to improve SUVs, the
organization argues, Congress has bowed to pressure from automobile manufactures and refused to
require SUVs to be safer, cleaner, and more fuel–efficient. The Sierra Club is one of the oldest and
largest environmental advocacy groups in The United States." (Bily 62) SUVs are a huge contributor
to pollution and global warming, the waste so much gas and money.
"When it comes to wasting energy, SUVs are unrivaled. Built with outraged, gas–guzzling
technology, many SUVs get just 13 miles per gallon. And the higher gas prices are, the more
money they waste." (Bily 63) If you don't think SUVs contribute obviously you're wrong, with the
facts stated obviously SUVs have a big contribution because the use a high amount of gas and emit a
lot of carbon dioxide. Solar activity is another factor that contributes to global warming.
"Not so surprisingly, its the sun. Scientists have discovered good correlations between trends in the
output of the sun and temperature, measured using proxy data from

Global Warming Essay
Global warming is the process in which the Earth's temperature starts increasing. This happens
because industry, fossil fuels, agricultural processes caused by human, natural, and other gas
emissions, this factors increase greenhouse gases, greenhouse gases are made up of carbon dioxide,
methane and nitrous oxide. The greenhouse gases stay in the atmosphere and prevent the suns
warming rays to leave the Earth. So the sun's warming rays stay inside the Earth increasing its
average temperature. Global warming isn't the end of the world, it's just a natural process in which
the Earth cleans or rinse organisms.
Now a days the Automobiles, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for
about 80% of today's carbon dioxide...show more content...
Lastly many bodies of water become polluted thanks to all the gasses in the atmosphere that mix
with the clouds and fall as acid rain polluting rivers, and lakes and killing many animals. All of
theses factors change our daily life and can ruin whole species, and all of this is because of
temperature changes.
Many scientific methods of controlling or lowering the Earth's temperature are being researched;
these can also be called geoengineering. Geoengineering is a method in which scientists can
change the levels of greenhouse gases directly or indirectly. Also there could be methods that
prevent greenhouse gasses to be emitted. There have never been any geoengineering solutions
done on a global scale since it has to be almost proof less. But there have been some ideas that are
being use on a small scale like the iron fertilization; this is a process in which iron is injected into
the oceans to speed up the reproduction of plankton which breath carbon dioxide and emit oxygen,
this is one solution that seems to have the least side effects thanks to the reason I just presented
and also due to that plankton are the base of many marine animals food chain. So this method is
being widely researched to see if it can be done on a global scale. Not only is lowering the levels of
gases in the air important, but also lowering the level of gases we emit, and there have been many
scientific breakthroughs like solar energy or cars that run

Global Warming
Global warming is a serious epidemic that is affecting the earth due to the main recklessness of its
people. Even a minor change in temperature due to global warming affects the earth and its people. It
the temperature were still to increase, it could cause drastic changes and affect the earth and earth's
population. Tremendous difference in temperature can directly and indirectly cause the loss of
human life and harm the animals. The hard face is that despite what many nations, companies, cities
and people are starting to do to reduce their global warming emission. The world is putting out more
carbon dioxide into the air than ever before. The current amount is 385 parts per million (ppm),
higher than ever in the past...show more content...
There has been loss of various species due to global warming. Most important changes are seen in
the animals as they react to the warmer environment, which are caused due to global warming. In
2002 about 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide release stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose
of electricity generation. Coal accounts for 93% of the emissions from the electric utility industry
(US Emissions Inventory 2004 Executive Summary p. 10). About 33% of U.S carbon dioxide
emissions comes from the burning of gasoline in internal–combustion engines of cars and light
trucks (minivans, sport utility vehicles, pick–up trucks, and jeeps) (US Emissions Inventory 2006
page 8 ). The goal is to bring global warming under control by controlling the release of carbon
dioxide and other heat–trapping gases into the atmosphere. There are numerous ways to control
such things that would help us build a better living environment. The largest source of greenhouse
gases is in the use of electricity. Reducing the power usage would benefit the greenhouse effect
because much of the energy we use in our homes comes from power plants which burn fossil fuel to
power our electric products. Reducing the amount of electricity used in homes by switching to
energy efficient lighting. Buying home appliance that is labeled as high in energy savings, because
all major appliances are all day and night.
Improving vehicles fuel efficiency by buying a hybrid car

Global Warming:
"It's gettin' hot in here, so take off all your clothes..." The famous words of R&B star, Nelly, are
truer than one might think. It really is getting hot in here. The world's average temperature is rising
every year and is expected to be 5 to 10 degrees higher by the end of the century, which is faster than
they have increased in the last ten millennia, according to the National Resource Defense Council's
website. But why is this epidemic happening? As the Defense Council states, global warming is
caused by carbon dioxide and other types of heat trapping pollution that are collecting like a blanket
in the atmosphere, trapping heat from the earth as it tries to radiate back into space. As a result, the
planet...show more content...
This trend will even be noticeable the next few decades. It is essential to following generation's
comfort that this trend stops now because, according to author Kathryn Schulz, Chicago will start to
feel a lot like southern Missouri in this lifetime.
For instance, the Qori Kalis glacier in Peru is shrinking at a rate of 200 meters per year, 40 times
faster that in 1978. Ice is disappearing from the Arctic Ocean and Greenland, spring is starting
sooner in 200 other countries, and animals are moving to cooler areas (Carey & Shapiro, 2004).
Ecologist Christopher Field of the Carnegie Institution states, "...Even the most modest warming
today is having large effects on ecosystems. The most compelling impact is the 10% decreasing
yield of corn in the Midwest per degree of warming," (Carey and Shapiro, 2004).
Moreover, robins, traditional indications of spring, have been showing up earlier and earlier at the
Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Colorado. The bird's change in arrival time relates with
increasingly warm spring temperatures in the area. In addition, many of the woody plants of
Boston's Arnold Arboretum are blooming earlier every few years. In a study conducted at the
Arboretum, from 1980–2002 plants flowered eight days earlier than they did from 1900 to 1920.
"What the study is showing is that plants are very responsive to global warming," says biologist
Richard Primack. "And the global warming we are

Scientists have discovered good correlations between trends in the output of the sun and temperature, measured using proxy data from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Global Warming Essay Global warming is the process in which the Earth's temperature starts increasing. This happens because industry, fossil fuels, agricultural processes caused by human, natural, and other gas emissions, this factors increase greenhouse gases, greenhouse gases are made up of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. The greenhouse gases stay in the atmosphere and prevent the suns warming rays to leave the Earth. So the sun's warming rays stay inside the Earth increasing its average temperature. Global warming isn't the end of the world, it's just a natural process in which the Earth cleans or rinse organisms. Now a days the Automobiles, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for about 80% of today's carbon dioxide...show more content... Lastly many bodies of water become polluted thanks to all the gasses in the atmosphere that mix with the clouds and fall as acid rain polluting rivers, and lakes and killing many animals. All of theses factors change our daily life and can ruin whole species, and all of this is because of temperature changes. Many scientific methods of controlling or lowering the Earth's temperature are being researched; these can also be called geoengineering. Geoengineering is a method in which scientists can change the levels of greenhouse gases directly or indirectly. Also there could be methods that prevent greenhouse gasses to be emitted. There have never been any geoengineering solutions done on a global scale since it has to be almost proof less. But there have been some ideas that are being use on a small scale like the iron fertilization; this is a process in which iron is injected into the oceans to speed up the reproduction of plankton which breath carbon dioxide and emit oxygen, this is one solution that seems to have the least side effects thanks to the reason I just presented and also due to that plankton are the base of many marine animals food chain. So this method is being widely researched to see if it can be done on a global scale. Not only is lowering the levels of gases in the air important, but also lowering the level of gases we emit, and there have been many scientific breakthroughs like solar energy or cars that run Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Global Warming Essay Global Warming Global warming is a serious epidemic that is affecting the earth due to the main recklessness of its people. Even a minor change in temperature due to global warming affects the earth and its people. It the temperature were still to increase, it could cause drastic changes and affect the earth and earth's population. Tremendous difference in temperature can directly and indirectly cause the loss of human life and harm the animals. The hard face is that despite what many nations, companies, cities and people are starting to do to reduce their global warming emission. The world is putting out more carbon dioxide into the air than ever before. The current amount is 385 parts per million (ppm), higher than ever in the past...show more content... There has been loss of various species due to global warming. Most important changes are seen in the animals as they react to the warmer environment, which are caused due to global warming. In 2002 about 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide release stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Coal accounts for 93% of the emissions from the electric utility industry (US Emissions Inventory 2004 Executive Summary p. 10). About 33% of U.S carbon dioxide emissions comes from the burning of gasoline in internal–combustion engines of cars and light trucks (minivans, sport utility vehicles, pick–up trucks, and jeeps) (US Emissions Inventory 2006 page 8 ). The goal is to bring global warming under control by controlling the release of carbon dioxide and other heat–trapping gases into the atmosphere. There are numerous ways to control such things that would help us build a better living environment. The largest source of greenhouse gases is in the use of electricity. Reducing the power usage would benefit the greenhouse effect because much of the energy we use in our homes comes from power plants which burn fossil fuel to power our electric products. Reducing the amount of electricity used in homes by switching to energy efficient lighting. Buying home appliance that is labeled as high in energy savings, because all major appliances are all day and night. Improving vehicles fuel efficiency by buying a hybrid car Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Global Warming Essay examples Global Warming: "It's gettin' hot in here, so take off all your clothes..." The famous words of R&B star, Nelly, are truer than one might think. It really is getting hot in here. The world's average temperature is rising every year and is expected to be 5 to 10 degrees higher by the end of the century, which is faster than they have increased in the last ten millennia, according to the National Resource Defense Council's website. But why is this epidemic happening? As the Defense Council states, global warming is caused by carbon dioxide and other types of heat trapping pollution that are collecting like a blanket in the atmosphere, trapping heat from the earth as it tries to radiate back into space. As a result, the planet...show more content... This trend will even be noticeable the next few decades. It is essential to following generation's comfort that this trend stops now because, according to author Kathryn Schulz, Chicago will start to feel a lot like southern Missouri in this lifetime. For instance, the Qori Kalis glacier in Peru is shrinking at a rate of 200 meters per year, 40 times faster that in 1978. Ice is disappearing from the Arctic Ocean and Greenland, spring is starting sooner in 200 other countries, and animals are moving to cooler areas (Carey & Shapiro, 2004). Ecologist Christopher Field of the Carnegie Institution states, "...Even the most modest warming today is having large effects on ecosystems. The most compelling impact is the 10% decreasing yield of corn in the Midwest per degree of warming," (Carey and Shapiro, 2004). Moreover, robins, traditional indications of spring, have been showing up earlier and earlier at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Colorado. The bird's change in arrival time relates with increasingly warm spring temperatures in the area. In addition, many of the woody plants of Boston's Arnold Arboretum are blooming earlier every few years. In a study conducted at the Arboretum, from 1980–2002 plants flowered eight days earlier than they did from 1900 to 1920. "What the study is showing is that plants are very responsive to global warming," says biologist Richard Primack. "And the global warming we are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
