Simplified Call Flow Signaling: Registration - The Attach Procedure3G4G
This presentation/video provides an example of the registration procedure. The device or UE needs to let the core network(s) know that it is switched on and active. This procedure is known as registration. The UE can register individually to the CS and PS core networks. Most modern networks allow combined registration (or combined attach) whereby the UE registers only to the PS network and the PS network informs the CS network that the UE is active.
VoLTE Flows and legacy CS network. Basic call routing to and from CS network using BGCF, MGCF, MGW. ENUM role in routing. IMS Cetralized Services (IMC) and SRVCC scenarios.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
Project Description The proposed generic IWF framework provides an inter-working
solution from any communication protocol to SIP and vice-a-versa.
It adapts to vast range of communication protocols, ranging from
packet switching to circuit switching based, and from wired or wireless
region, and enables inter-working with SIP. The solution provides an
easy plug-in of any communication protocol to the G-IWF with a
protocol dependent “adapter module” that talks with a protocol
independent IWF layer which in turn interfaces with SIP stack. Hence,
one region of the protocol independent layer communicates with the
SIP stack and other region with the protocol dependent adapter. The
protocol adapter converts all the protocol independent IWF messages
to the specific communication protocol and vice-a-versa. One or more
protocol-dependent-adapters can be plugged-in at the same time to
handle multiple protocols interworking with SIP.

IMS
Wireshark
Project Description IMS Telephony Application Server (TAS) is a scalable carrier-grade
Multimedia Telephony Application Server providing voice and video services
to IMS/SIP clients over any IMS-enabled access type, e.g. LTE, Wi-Fi,
HSPA, etc. It supports Mobile VoIP (Voice over Wi-Fi) and Voice over LTE
(VoLTE) as well as Mobile Video Calling. The IMS TAS is uniquely
equipped to offer service parity and synchronization with the circuit switched
(CS) network, enabling a consistent service offering to the user regardless of
the access type and service network. At the same time, the TAS offers a rich
suite of new services and capabilities to IP clients.
