Managing APIs can be difficult due to multiple versions and stages, monitoring third party access, and authorization challenges. Amazon API Gateway addresses these issues by allowing APIs to run without servers, streamlining development, providing performance at any scale, and reducing latency and operational burden through features like throttling and caching. API Gateway integrates with AWS Lambda and CloudWatch to enable serverless backends that automatically scale.
