Over one third of Amazon Echo revenue in the past two years came from Generation X consumers, while Baby Boomers made up 31% of all Echo purchases since January 2015. This signals mainstream adoption of voice first devices is being driven by older generations. Additionally, current voice users are more likely to be young, male, and affluent, with 50% of 18-34 year olds and 43% of households earning over $50,000 using voice monthly compared to a 37% population average.
