My Birthday
I was born on December 21, 1993. Not every person feels
proud of his birthday because it’s not necessary that something
really special happens on each day, but I am proud of being
born on that day because that day was very special in many
regards. Many important things happened on 21 December
which are not only important for me, my family, my town but
for the whole world, and this is the only thing which always
makes me feel proud of it. There are three important things that
happened on that auspicious day. The First thing is related an
article which published on that day. Second thing is related to
the comic that published in newspaper and last thing was the
advertisement which related to the technology. All the things
discussed above carry their own importance in their own way.
I feel proud of my Birthday i.e. 21 December 1993 on this date
many great things happen. One of the most important things for
the world and the America was the Football World cup 1994
which was played in US and broke the average daily attendance
record with approximately 69,000 which is still intact. It was
the first world cup final which ends on penalty shoots out and
what hell of a match that was the world experience in America.
On December 21, 1993 ‘’ Washington Post ‘’ published an
article about the importance of world cup on Washington D.C.
The financial analysts were of the view that the World cup will
generate upto 340 million dollars for the US. The United States
was first time going to host 24 teams final round from June 17
to July 17. Matches were played in 9 cities. Large number of
fans visited US to attend the matches and tourism was also
benefited a lot due to their stays and off-match recreations.
Expensive broadcasting rights were also a boost for the
industry. Apart from the financial benefits, US got much of
what we call intrinsic satisfaction and what is intangible like
Goodwill, Fame, and Recognition. Many cultural and social
events were held in and surroundings of Washington which
helps promoting US culture and hospitality. Beside world cup
matches, opening night gala, Miss Saigon’s performance and
many balls were arranged for the amusement of fans and
players. I feel really proud that the World comes to see real
entertaining and fun loving America which has great love for
the soccer.
It is certainly one thing to proud of that the World’s best World
cup and even best World cup final was played in United States.
This world cup will always be remembered for many reasons
like few great players, twists and colourful South American and
African fans. 24 teams were split in 6 group with 4 teams in
each group. Group A is sadly known for the murder of the
Colombian defender Andres Escobar for a own goal which ends
Colombia’s progress in the first round. Final match was played
between Brazil and Italy in Los Angeles at Rose Bowl Stadium.
Crown of approximately 94,000 enjoys the match in the
stadium. Brazil beats Italy 3-2 after a thrilling game. One of the
stars of world cup Roberto Baggio from Italy missed the last
penalty to make the Brazil champions. No one could have
believed that Roberto Baggio which was known as ‘’ the divine
pony-tail’’ would miss that penalty. This is thought to be one
most memorable and strange word cup and also the US was not
really involved in football on a big scale before but this
tournament shows the world what was missing. These are only
some of the important reasons why this World cup is the best
ever and source of being proud of it ever.
Secondly, I want to discuss about that comic which was
published on 21, December in the ProQuest Historical
Newspaper. The title of that comic was “BLONDIE young &
dark”. In this comic there seems to be a post man who is
distributing the Christmas cards in the home of each person. His
name was Mr. Beasley. Once he was at the home of a lady. He
was there to give those Christmas cards. The postman was too
much busy in distributing the cards that he didn’t realized that
something is sitting on his sleeve. The lady told him. Actually
the fact is that he has to distribute all the cards before the
Christmas that’s why he didn’t realize that. After he left their
home the lady hoped that he might work his job properly. Her
husband told her that his job is getting tougher as the Christmas
is arriving near. Actually the point I want to tell through this
comic is that the Christmas was near. And everybody seems
busy but quite happy because Christmas is the symbol of
happiness for every rich and poor. I’m proud of my birthday
just because Christmas was very near.
The third and the very last thing which I want to discuss here is
that advertisement which was also published in the same
newspaper named “ProQuest Historical Newspaper” on the 21st
December. This was all about technology which was firstly very
expensive but on my birthday it was discounted and was easily
affordable for each middle class person. In fact it was published
on 21st December but due to the holidays of the Christmas
Computer mega store which was offering the discount would
remain closed. These discounted prices would be effective for
the public from 27th December. Computer mega store was
offering high technology computers, laptops, cellular phones,
printers, scanners, etc. at very cheap rates. The technology is
always needed badly by the people of every era. Actually it is
and it was considered as a basic necessity of the people of every
age especially young ones. It was very good news for every one
because now everyone can easy had them. The company was
also providing Edu-tainment software on cheap rates. Usually
people thought that if the company is providing a thing on
cheap rates it must have a certain defect but here the company
is providing the one year to three year warranty along with
them.

Education System
Education is important for everyone in this world. Education
is “The action or process of educating or of being educated”
(“Education”). (merriam-webster)
Merriam-Webster defined it in two ways. First is “the action of
people to educate other or the process of being educated”.
Second way to define education is that “it is the field of study
which mainly concerned with the various methods of teaching”.
Generally, education is defined as “the process in which
knowledge and skills of people are transformed from generation
to generation”. These factors are transferred through teaching,
by conducting different research and trainings. Education is
divided into various stages: pre-schools, primary schools,
secondary schools, colleges and universities. It is recognized in
1966 by International Covenant on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights. In various countries education is compulsory
for everyone. The word education is derived from the Latin
word education. (OECD)
Preschools are also known as “nursery school” or
“kindergarten”. It provides the education for the age groups of
three-to-five year or seven-year olds. Preschool knowledge is
very important for everyone because if a child does not possess
the preschool knowledge, then he will remain behind the other
children when they will enter into the formal education. This
stage of education is prior to the compulsory education of
primary stage of education. These sorts of institutions may be
run by the government or may be privately owned. The Origin
of this stage of education belongs to that time when education
was restricted for the children who learnt education at their
home then government tried to make education accessible for
those children who were orphan or whose mothers were working
in the factories. Johann Friedrich Oberlin and Louise Scheppler
established the institution for the pre-age children who parents
were not there in 1779. Early years of life are very important
for the absorption of information than the later ages. In those
days, there was rapid growth of brains, so these institutions
with the high-quality staff have long- term impacts on the
growth of children. These institutions play their important roles
in the economic, social, emotional and physical development of
children. These institutions increase the skills of children
regarding the team-work, awareness of world knowledge and
communication skills.
Primary education comprises of the five-to-six year olds
for formal education. Normally, children of five-to-six years
possess this education. But their ages may vary from country to
country. Overall, 89 percent of children are enrolled in the
primary education whose belongs to the age group of primary
educations (UN Department of Public Information). It is
compulsory for all. This stage of education increases the
awareness of children about various subjects. It is the source to
build the foundation about science, geography, history etc.
Primary educated people are not supposed to be illiterate
worldwide; it is just the start of education on the basis of which
further high school education will be obtained. Primary
education basically allows one to understand basic needs of
human beings of reading, writing, communicating.
To achieve the universal primary education by the year 2015 is
the United Nations Millennium Development Goal. According
to which, by the year 2015, every child in the world will
achieve its primary education regardless of race or gender.
According to the estimation of 2010, still there are 69 million
children of this age group not going to schools. Most of these
children belong to Sub-Saharan Africa. There is remarkable
reduction in the gender gap from the years 1999 to 2008 (UN
Department of Public Information).
The Secondary-educational stage comes after the primary
education. Secondary education is also compulsory in most of
the developed countries. It is also known as high-school or
middle-school education. In most of the countries like England,
Wales and Northern Ireland, General Certificate for Secondary
education is awarded to the students of age group 14-to-16.
Secondary education is followed by the tertiary or higher
education. (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations
Regulator)
Secondary education is really important in career making
of youth. This stage’s performance determines what higher
education opportunities students are going to get and what
profession they choose on the basis of their outstanding
performances or aptitude for some subjects more than the
others. Secondary education is also confidence booster for the
students in that it feel them re-assured of their abilities and
sense of belonging to the arena. People with strong secondary
education are more able to go for two or more specializations.
Tertiary education is the types of formal education that
varies from country to country. It includes colleges and
universities. Tertiary education is not limited to the
universities. Universities are the part of tertiary education.
Through this education, student specializes in relevant subjects.
Besides this various tertiary institutions are located in almost
every country. These institutions are colleges, trainings
institutions which also enhances the knowledge of individual.
Various universities in most of the countries are providing the
higher education to their students. There is advancement of
knowledge but poor countries lack this stage of education. (The
World Bank)
Tertiary education determines whether one is going to
survive in its particular profession. Nowadays, students can
specializes in many new areas like Actuaries, environmental
scientists, computer sciences besides contemporary professions
like medical, engineering and law.
Education is the technique through which people become aware
of various skills. Education makes them educated and
sophisticated. And it is the basic need of every country. During
the early days of the history, the education system was not
developed, but with the passage of time, this system became
advanced because it is the need of today. (Ensuring the
universal primary education till 2015 is the Millennium
Development Goal of UN.) In most of the developed nations,
secondary stage of education is considered compulsory but
various poor countries lack this system where the large
community of people is illiterate. And this is the main reason
that why these countries are not developed. Every country has
to focus on the advancement of education. It increases the
competition amongst various countries. Children should be
provided with the primary, secondary and tertiary education
because the new generation is the future of the country. From
the all above discussion we conclude that a student should get
education step by step for the proper development of the
country.

  • 1. Alotaibi Saud Alotaibi WRC 1013.01s Prof. M. Leath 6 August 2014 In class Writing My Birthday I was born on December 21, 1993. Not every person feels proud of his birthday because it’s not necessary that something really special happens on each day, but I am proud of being born on that day because that day was very special in many regards. Many important things happened on 21 December which are not only important for me, my family, my town but for the whole world, and this is the only thing which always makes me feel proud of it. There are three important things that happened on that auspicious day. The First thing is related an article which published on that day. Second thing is related to the comic that published in newspaper and last thing was the advertisement which related to the technology. All the things discussed above carry their own importance in their own way. I feel proud of my Birthday i.e. 21 December 1993 on this date many great things happen. One of the most important things for the world and the America was the Football World cup 1994 which was played in US and broke the average daily attendance record with approximately 69,000 which is still intact. It was
  • 2. the first world cup final which ends on penalty shoots out and what hell of a match that was the world experience in America. On December 21, 1993 ‘’ Washington Post ‘’ published an article about the importance of world cup on Washington D.C. The financial analysts were of the view that the World cup will generate upto 340 million dollars for the US. The United States was first time going to host 24 teams final round from June 17 to July 17. Matches were played in 9 cities. Large number of fans visited US to attend the matches and tourism was also benefited a lot due to their stays and off-match recreations. Expensive broadcasting rights were also a boost for the industry. Apart from the financial benefits, US got much of what we call intrinsic satisfaction and what is intangible like Goodwill, Fame, and Recognition. Many cultural and social events were held in and surroundings of Washington which helps promoting US culture and hospitality. Beside world cup matches, opening night gala, Miss Saigon’s performance and many balls were arranged for the amusement of fans and players. I feel really proud that the World comes to see real entertaining and fun loving America which has great love for the soccer. It is certainly one thing to proud of that the World’s best World cup and even best World cup final was played in United States. This world cup will always be remembered for many reasons like few great players, twists and colourful South American and African fans. 24 teams were split in 6 group with 4 teams in each group. Group A is sadly known for the murder of the Colombian defender Andres Escobar for a own goal which ends Colombia’s progress in the first round. Final match was played between Brazil and Italy in Los Angeles at Rose Bowl Stadium. Crown of approximately 94,000 enjoys the match in the stadium. Brazil beats Italy 3-2 after a thrilling game. One of the stars of world cup Roberto Baggio from Italy missed the last penalty to make the Brazil champions. No one could have believed that Roberto Baggio which was known as ‘’ the divine
  • 3. pony-tail’’ would miss that penalty. This is thought to be one most memorable and strange word cup and also the US was not really involved in football on a big scale before but this tournament shows the world what was missing. These are only some of the important reasons why this World cup is the best ever and source of being proud of it ever. Secondly, I want to discuss about that comic which was published on 21, December in the ProQuest Historical Newspaper. The title of that comic was “BLONDIE young & dark”. In this comic there seems to be a post man who is distributing the Christmas cards in the home of each person. His name was Mr. Beasley. Once he was at the home of a lady. He was there to give those Christmas cards. The postman was too much busy in distributing the cards that he didn’t realized that something is sitting on his sleeve. The lady told him. Actually the fact is that he has to distribute all the cards before the Christmas that’s why he didn’t realize that. After he left their home the lady hoped that he might work his job properly. Her husband told her that his job is getting tougher as the Christmas is arriving near. Actually the point I want to tell through this comic is that the Christmas was near. And everybody seems busy but quite happy because Christmas is the symbol of happiness for every rich and poor. I’m proud of my birthday just because Christmas was very near. The third and the very last thing which I want to discuss here is that advertisement which was also published in the same newspaper named “ProQuest Historical Newspaper” on the 21st December. This was all about technology which was firstly very expensive but on my birthday it was discounted and was easily affordable for each middle class person. In fact it was published on 21st December but due to the holidays of the Christmas Computer mega store which was offering the discount would remain closed. These discounted prices would be effective for the public from 27th December. Computer mega store was offering high technology computers, laptops, cellular phones, printers, scanners, etc. at very cheap rates. The technology is
  • 4. always needed badly by the people of every era. Actually it is and it was considered as a basic necessity of the people of every age especially young ones. It was very good news for every one because now everyone can easy had them. The company was also providing Edu-tainment software on cheap rates. Usually people thought that if the company is providing a thing on cheap rates it must have a certain defect but here the company is providing the one year to three year warranty along with them. Education is “The action or process of educating or of being educated” (“Education”). (merriam-webster)
  • 5. Merriam-Webster defined it in two ways. First is “the action of people to educate other or the process of being educated”. Second way to define education is that “it is the field of study which mainly concerned with the various methods of teaching”. Generally, education is defined as “the process in which knowledge and skills of people are transformed from generation to generation”. These factors are transferred through teaching, by conducting different research and trainings. Education is divided into various stages: pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities. It is recognized in 1966 by International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. In various countries education is compulsory for everyone. The word education is derived from the Latin word education. (OECD) Preschools are also known as “nursery school” or “kindergarten”. It provides the education for the age groups of three-to-five year or seven-year olds. Preschool knowledge is very important for everyone because if a child does not possess the preschool knowledge, then he will remain behind the other children when they will enter into the formal education. This stage of education is prior to the compulsory education of primary stage of education. These sorts of institutions may be run by the government or may be privately owned. The Origin of this stage of education belongs to that time when education was restricted for the children who learnt education at their home then government tried to make education accessible for those children who were orphan or whose mothers were working in the factories. Johann Friedrich Oberlin and Louise Scheppler established the institution for the pre-age children who parents were not there in 1779. Early years of life are very important for the absorption of information than the later ages. In those days, there was rapid growth of brains, so these institutions with the high-quality staff have long- term impacts on the growth of children. These institutions play their important roles in the economic, social, emotional and physical development of children. These institutions increase the skills of children
  • 6. regarding the team-work, awareness of world knowledge and communication skills. Primary education comprises of the five-to-six year olds for formal education. Normally, children of five-to-six years possess this education. But their ages may vary from country to country. Overall, 89 percent of children are enrolled in the primary education whose belongs to the age group of primary educations (UN Department of Public Information). It is compulsory for all. This stage of education increases the awareness of children about various subjects. It is the source to build the foundation about science, geography, history etc. Primary educated people are not supposed to be illiterate worldwide; it is just the start of education on the basis of which further high school education will be obtained. Primary education basically allows one to understand basic needs of human beings of reading, writing, communicating. To achieve the universal primary education by the year 2015 is the United Nations Millennium Development Goal. According to which, by the year 2015, every child in the world will achieve its primary education regardless of race or gender. According to the estimation of 2010, still there are 69 million children of this age group not going to schools. Most of these children belong to Sub-Saharan Africa. There is remarkable reduction in the gender gap from the years 1999 to 2008 (UN Department of Public Information). The Secondary-educational stage comes after the primary education. Secondary education is also compulsory in most of the developed countries. It is also known as high-school or middle-school education. In most of the countries like England, Wales and Northern Ireland, General Certificate for Secondary education is awarded to the students of age group 14-to-16. Secondary education is followed by the tertiary or higher education. (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator) Secondary education is really important in career making of youth. This stage’s performance determines what higher
  • 7. education opportunities students are going to get and what profession they choose on the basis of their outstanding performances or aptitude for some subjects more than the others. Secondary education is also confidence booster for the students in that it feel them re-assured of their abilities and sense of belonging to the arena. People with strong secondary education are more able to go for two or more specializations. Tertiary education is the types of formal education that varies from country to country. It includes colleges and universities. Tertiary education is not limited to the universities. Universities are the part of tertiary education. Through this education, student specializes in relevant subjects. Besides this various tertiary institutions are located in almost every country. These institutions are colleges, trainings institutions which also enhances the knowledge of individual. Various universities in most of the countries are providing the higher education to their students. There is advancement of knowledge but poor countries lack this stage of education. (The World Bank) Tertiary education determines whether one is going to survive in its particular profession. Nowadays, students can specializes in many new areas like Actuaries, environmental scientists, computer sciences besides contemporary professions like medical, engineering and law. Education is the technique through which people become aware of various skills. Education makes them educated and sophisticated. And it is the basic need of every country. During the early days of the history, the education system was not developed, but with the passage of time, this system became advanced because it is the need of today. (Ensuring the universal primary education till 2015 is the Millennium Development Goal of UN.) In most of the developed nations, secondary stage of education is considered compulsory but various poor countries lack this system where the large community of people is illiterate. And this is the main reason that why these countries are not developed. Every country has
  • 8. to focus on the advancement of education. It increases the competition amongst various countries. Children should be provided with the primary, secondary and tertiary education because the new generation is the future of the country. From the all above discussion we conclude that a student should get education step by step for the proper development of the country. Works Cited: "Education." Def. la.
