This document discusses and provides an overview of the textbook "Mathematical Literacy for College Students" (Math Lit) by Kathleen Almy and Heather Foes. [1] It provides a one-semester alternative to the traditional two-semester developmental algebra sequence for non-STEM students. [2] Through contextual problem-solving, it helps students develop numeracy, proportional reasoning, algebraic reasoning, and functions skills. [3] The textbook content is organized into cycles that take a spiral approach to covering topics related to four thematic strands.
