Helping Students
excel
As a mentor, you will help a student with
anything suited to their individual interests
and talents. Your main purpose is to be a
caring and supportive adult and help your
mentee attain academic and personal success.
Mentors typically:
• Build a student’s character development by
encouraging work ethic, trustworthiness,
kindness, responsibility, etc.
• Help with homework and improve
academic skills
• Participate in activities of interest to the
mentee
• Help set career goals and develop resumes
• Help think through a problem at school or
home

All-in Mentors was created within the
Hickman Mills C-1 School District in 2013
and is open to all K-12 students.
Mentors must:
• Pass a simple background check
• Complete All-in Mentors application
• Spend 1 hour per week with their
student
• Meet with their student on school
grounds during school hours
Big Brothers
Big Sisters
This community-based program is the
traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS)
program that matches children in grades
K-6 from one-parent or non-traditional
households with caring, adult mentors.
Mentors must:
• Pass a background check
• Complete a BBBS application
• Spend 1 hour per week with their
student
• Meet with their student on school
grounds during school hours
