Alexander the Great was a legendary leader who united Greece and defeated the Persian army through his character and leadership. He was taught by Aristotle and succeeded his father Phillip II in strengthening Macedon and weakening Persia. Alexander then assembled a large army and personally led the campaign against Persia, defeating them due to his personal reasons for the war. However, he sadly drank himself to death at a young age after his victories, and the empire he built did not remain united after his death, though he is still considered one of the greatest leaders of all time.
