Alejandro G. Abadilla was a Filipino poet, essayist and fiction writer known as the father of modern Philippine poetry. He helped challenge established forms and literature's excessive romanticism. Abadilla helped found the Kapisanang Panitikan in 1935 and edited a magazine. His collection of poems Ako ang Daigdig is one of his better known works.
