Albert Edelfelt was a Finnish painter of Swedish origin known for his historical and everyday genre paintings as well as portraits and landscapes. He was born in 1854 in Finland and studied art in Helsinki, Antwerp, and Paris, becoming proficient in techniques like pastels and watercolors. Edelfelt frequently traveled throughout Europe to paint and exhibited his work internationally from 1872 until his death in 1905.
