1. Alan Moses
DOB, 24 06 1963 July 2012
Bio Brief
Employment
I Completed year 10 and started an apprenticeship with Qantas as a Ground
Engineer Mechanical 1st Class (Aircraft sheet metal worker). Within Qantas I
completed this trade working on a variety of commercial and military aircraft
nose to tail. During this time I achieved a Production examiner level in non-
destructive testing, heat treatment and structural repairs and assembly of
aircraft components. Along with running my own crew, in line maintenance
and aircraft servicing.
After Qantas and initial support from my father and uncle, I started a
manufacturing company in 1988 that branched into six business units over
the course of 20 years.
The business expanded to be the largest in each of its respective fields in
Australia.
Byron Aviation
Was the initial business and provided aircraft components to
commercial operators and achieved aviation certification for delivering
local components to Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin, Ansett and internationally
certified with FAA and JAA for Boeing and Airbus.
DHS
Was the first branch from aviation, were I developed an array of
stretchers and rescue equipment to become a globally recognised
brand.
Byron GSE
Designed and built equipment used for the support and turnaround of
aircraft including hilift catering trucks, aircraft docking and servicing
vehicles.
Emergency Transport Technology (ETT)
Specialised in the design and manufacture of ambulance, police, fire,
covert, and inmate transfer vehicles
Accessible Transit Specialists (ATS)
Converted easy access vehicles for the disabled.
2. Emergency Resource Management (ERM)
The last business unit developed was principally about a vehicle based
computer system supporting information transfer between a dispatch
centre and an emergency vehicle, also encompassing a host of
features supporting a paramedic.
The business grew to 11 locations 7 on the eastern seaboard, 3 in Asia and
Dubai. These sites were a mix of manufacturing, assembly and sales
principally for ETT & DHS. There were also JV’s within China and the UK. In
2010 the business employed almost 400 people worldwide and building 1000
ambulances and emergency vehicles each year with a turnover of 60 million.
In 2010 I entered into an agreement to sell the business and this was
finalised in July 2012.
Amtek
In 2013, I started Amtek, the business was initiated to support emergency
services and wheel chair accessible, it grew very quickly and in 2016
employs 40 people in two locations, Sydney and Perth. It has already
become the largest wheel chair conversions company in NSW. The principal
customers are NSW Health, NSW Police, SES and the RMS.
