Editor's Notes

  • #2 U: Hi, my name is Usman D: And my name is Dave and we are the founders of AirView, which expands the Internet of Things. As a veteran, I am exciting on how this can be applied to the government.
  • #3 Dave:99% of things in the physical world are not connected to the Internet. Why is that? It is because adding a sensor to an existing structure is usually very time consuming and expensive. This serves as a limiting factor in the expansion of the IoT to many structures in the physical world.
  • #4 Usman: How AirView is addressing this problem is by using specialized UAVs, better known as drones, for the placement of low cost sensors on manmade and natural surfaces. By doing so, we are able to place environmental sensors, such as videos, chemical detection, thermal, and many other types of sensors on difficult to reach structures, thereby greatly expanding the footprint of IoT
  • #5 Usman Our patent pending technology to enable the placement of sensors by UAVs as well as the extending the range of current generation UAVs We are building prototypes of these technologies and testing them in the real world We have also built a small low cost sensor as well as a successful delivery mechanism We’ve built a successful wireless solar powered charging station to extend UAV range What we find is that by using our UAVs and sensors, we can significantly reduce costs for installation and data gathering
  • #6 Dave: As you know, the IoT is growing at over 25% annually. Two areas where AirView can greatly assist is in driving adoption is in Video Surveillance and Power distribution automation Placement of sensors to get high-value video and audio data: Better crime surveillance Advanced intelligence in urban warfare. As a platoon leader, … Placement of sensors on power lines to get real-time data about the grid
  • #7 Dave: Co-founders with over combined 30 years experience starting and scaling high-growth software and IoT businesses Strong engineering team with significant aeronautical & electrical engineering, materials science experience As we said earlier, we have Patents Pending on our technologies We are looking to raise capital and develop relationships with government decision makers in the near future
