Micro foaming and air bubbles in paste form ink can cause problems like uneven skinning and a non-smooth surface appearance. These issues can be addressed by passing the ink through a loose 3-roll mill or vacuum system to remove trapped air or bubbles before problems occur. Both a 3-roll mill and vacuum methods are effective at removing air from ink, though their effectiveness is not directly compared.
