HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away
Generating privacy-protected synthetic data using Secludy and MilvusZilliz
During this demo, the founders of Secludy will demonstrate how their system utilizes Milvus to store and manipulate embeddings for generating privacy-protected synthetic data. Their approach not only maintains the confidentiality of the original data but also enhances the utility and scalability of LLMs under privacy constraints. Attendees, including machine learning engineers, data scientists, and data managers, will witness first-hand how Secludy's integration with Milvus empowers organizations to harness the power of LLMs securely and efficiently.
Webinar: Designing a schema for a Data WarehouseFederico Razzoli
Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.
2. AirSync in Collaboration with Media distribution companies like Netflix, Blinkbox, Blockbuster, Vudu, Huluplus, Amazon Prime, Cloudload and a well-known global Airlines DelFly has conceptualized to revamp the Inflight entertainment.
The current Inflight entertainment is legacy and has the limited engagement with the customers. There might be a few new movies or Television episodes, however might not meet the interests of the customers.
Be it Games, or movies or sports etc., customers choose Netflix or similar services for the variety of choices it provides and flexibility to view, pause and continue.
Idea is to extend the capability on all airlines and any media distribution company or the media offered by the Airlines from their existing contracts.
The application will be first implemented for DelFly.
DelFly bookings can be done on their website or via their partner network. Once the booking is confirmed those websites will redirect to AirSync web application which in turn connects to the Media distribution websites. Users can select the movies, games etc. of their choice. Example: User is flying from Russia to India. The flight duration is about 6 hours. User can select let’s say 5 to 6 movies (regional or English). Longer the duration more the selection. AirSync will capture these preferences. AirSync will install sync devices in the Airlines and all the airports that the airlines operate. The Airport devices are synced with the user preferences. When the Aircraft arrives, the 2 devices are synced via the DelFly network. This data is then synced with the Inflight Entertainment system.
When the user boards the flight, they can now watch movies of their choice. AirSync is also responsible to delete the content right after the user journey completes.
Some Aircrafts have poor InFlight Entertainment systems. DelFly intends to replace them, however that will take considerable time and DelFly wants to provide this feature ASAP. Some customers prefer watching the movies via their own tablets, rather than IFE systems. AirSync will also set up a free local Wifi network within the aircraft. Users onboarding the flight can connect to the same, and watch their selected movies. Some of the media distribution companies have wish lists etc, the media distribution companies wants to offer those movies also to the user. Each of the movies watched have tags associated with them, an example : A user can choose to pause a movie and choose to watch it later. That information also needs to be stored and synced back to the media companies.
AirSync needs you to provide a solution for the above.
The features:
1. Website
2. Intent is to integrate with lot of Media distribution companies. An Integration architecture.
3. The infrastructure needed for AirSync.
4. The sync devices needed.
5. Management of digital rights.
6. The data location before syncing on to Airport and Aircraft sync devices.
7. The sync has to be fast, Airlines cannot delay time at the airport to accommodate this feature.
3. 8. The AirSync device in the Aircraft needs to integrate with the IFE and ensure that the data is copied and deleted appropriately.
9. The movies need to be offered to ONLY those users who have been affiliated with the media companies or via AirSync or the services should have been paid to the Airlines. This needs to be managed and also needs to be extra secure. A payment gateway need to be built which works from all countries using this service. Example: DelFly operated in 40+ countries
Cost Model: DelFly will pay for the Device, Installation and Service initiation fee. AirSync is offering services metering beyond that. As in, if there are 1000 customers using the service in a day, DelFly will be charged for 1000 users. For the customers who do not have an existing account with any of the media distribution companies the payment will be done via AirSync payment gateway.
10. The solution also needs to enable service metering, keeping in mind that the service will be extended to other airlines as well.
