This document outlines the risks of gene flow from genetically engineered crops and proposes methods to prevent it, including: 1) Conducting confined field trials to isolate genetically engineered crops and prevent genes from transferring to other plants through pollen or seed dispersal. 2) Preventing the release of any plant parts like seeds that could be eaten by livestock or humans and prevent the engineered genes from entering the food system. 3) Monitoring trials to prevent persistence of engineered crops in the environment after trials are complete and ensure strict containment is maintained.
