A simple application called cvdb is used to illustrate best practices in combining AngularJS as a client browser technology with a Spring based Java server.
The server architecture utilizes the new Spring Boot module that was introduced with Spring 4 together with other Spring modules like Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring MVC.
QueryDSL is used to access a H2 in memory database.
This presentation takes a pragmatic approach to comparing JavaFX and HTML5, using an application written in JavaFX versus the same functionality written in HTML5 to illustrate the pros and cons of each.
Teams building successful APIs focus on six tactical best practices areas to gain widespread developer community adoption, increase operational resiliency, accelerate API delivery, and seamlessly evolve API design as business requirements change. In this session, learn how to make tactical design decisions that expand your internal and external API community, reliably connect back-end Cloud services, rapidly publish data as APIs, secure API interactions, and synchronize lifecycle activities. Chris and Sumedha will build a few live APIs in the Cloud. The APIs will demonstrate design patterns, implementation decisions, and API environments (cloud and on-premise) that allow you to tailor your API based on target ecosystem and business model.
Publishing strategies for API documentationTom Johnson
Most of the common tools for publishing help material fall short when it comes to API documentation. Much API documentation (such as for Java, C++, or .NET APIs) is generated from comments in the source code. Their outputs don’t usually integrate with other help material, such as programming tutorials or scenario-based code samples.
REST APIs are a breed of their own, with almost no standard tools for generating documentation from the source. The variety of outputs for REST APIs are as diverse as the APIs themselves, as you can see by browsing the 11,000+ web APIs on programmableweb.com.
As a technical writer, what publishing strategies do you use for API documentation? Do you leave the reference material separate from the tutorials and code samples? Do you convert everything to DITA and merge it into a single output? Do you build your own help system from scratch that imports your REST API information?
There’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. In this presentation, you’ll learn a variety of publishing strategies for different kinds of APIs, with examples of what works well for developer audiences. No matter what kind of API you’re working with, you’ll benefit from this survey of the API doc publishing scene.

Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
