Renewable sources like solar and wind are difficult to adjust compared to oil and gas, which could lead to blackouts. A second problem is that many renewable sources are located far from infrastructure in remote areas. New infrastructure must be built to connect these sources, but smart technology can help make this more efficient.

The role of Chemistry education is to help in the development of scientific attitude in the learner. The
students’ performance in Chemistry at the national examinations in Kenya has remained poor, despite the
importance attached to the subject. Many factors influence this performance, one being learners' chemistry
self-concept. Computer-Based Instruction may help address the problem of student’s negative chemistry
self-concept as most educational institutions take learning online due to COVID -19 pandemic. In an
attempt to address this, this study aimed at finding out the effects of Computer-Based Simulations (CBS) on
students’ chemistry self-concept. The study involved quasi-experimental research using Solomon Four
Non- Equivalent Control Group Design. Sample size was 175 students. Instrument of data collection was
Chemistry Self-Concept Questionnaire (CSCQ). Results revealed that there is statistically significant
difference in the chemistry self-concept of students taught through CBS and those taught through Regular
Teaching Methods (RTM). Students taught through CBS acquired a higher level of chemistry self-concept
than those taught through RTM.

It involved randomly assigning 31 classrooms to either use the McDougal Littell curriculum or continue using their regular science curriculum. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design involving 100 SS1 students from two public schools who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught gas laws using problem-solving strategy while the control group was taught using lecture strategy. A chemistry achievement test on gas laws was administered as a pretest and posttest. The focus of this study was about higher secondary and primary school students’ attitude towards physics subject. The population of this study was some of the higher secondary and primary schools students of Dire Dawa administrative city (Ethiopia), however due to time constraints and convenience students from three government secondary schools, 2 Private secondary schools and l1 government and private schools were taken as convenience sample for this study. The study revealed that students were very much unsatisfied from the physics teacher methodology moreover students have considered physics as difficult subject and developed negative attitudes on the calculation part of the subject. The result also revealed that girls are more attracted on physics subject when they at primary than secondary schools, like grade 9 and 11.

"The aim of primary education is to provide education at the basic level of all ongoing primary school pupils. This study was carried out to investigate influence of home and school based factors on pupil's academic performers at Kenya certificate of primary education in Makadara sub county, Nairobi County. The study adopted the ex post facto design which involved the studies that investigate possible causes and effects by observing an existing condition and searching back in time for possible causal factors. It involved testing out possible antecedents of events that had happened and cannot be manipulated by the investigator. The study sampled 240 teachers, 39 Parents Association members and 150 pupils from class 6 and 7. The data collection instruments comprised of questionnaires and interview guide. Data collected was categorized, coded, analyzed then tabulated. The analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS . The analysis was both qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative analysis considered use of frequency counts and distribution, tabulation totals and calculation of percentages aimed at generating the data collected into meaningful groups and frequency tables for further analysis. Qualitative analysis involved the conclusions from the respondents' opinions. The study established that most parents had a college educational level, majority of the teachers were female whereas majority of the students were males. It also established that parental level of income influenced pupils' performance in KCPE at 60 s. Physical facilities and teaching and learning resources were also cited as factors that highly influence performances. The researcher recommended that the parents should provide a conducive learning environment at home to give the pupils ample time and space to study. Parents ought to strive to provide the basic required learning materials that are vital for a good performance in the KCPE exam irrespective of their level of income. The government should endeavor to allocate funds to be used for improving on the existing teaching and learning resources in public primary schools while adding more. The government should allocate enough funds that will enable provision of key physical learning facilities. Effect of Contextual Teaching Learning Approach on Students’ Retention in Che...
The study investigated the effect of contextual teaching learning approach CTLA on chemistry students’ academic retention in secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria. A pre test, posttest quasi experimental design was used involving a sample of 130 students drawn from six education zones in the state. The instrument known as contextual learning chemistry retention test CLCRT , validated by two experts with a reliability coefficient of 0.84 was used for data collection. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while t test was used to test the null hypotheses at P 0.05. The result revealed that CTLA had significant effect on students’ academic retention in chemistry. Finding implies there is need for chemistry teachers should adopt the use of contextual teaching learning approach to improve the performance of students in chemistry. 1) The LEADERS program achieved major accomplishments in its first year, including selecting teacher leaders, enrolling them in a masters degree program, and holding a summer institute. The goal is to improve science education by linking it to renewable energy industries through project-based science.
2) Activities completed to develop teacher leaders included selecting teachers through a rigorous application process, enrolling them in a masters in education program, and designing leadership classes to fulfill degree requirements focusing on psychology of learning, research and measurement, and equity.

UK Undergraduate Education - Update re CPE SB1 project

"The aim of primary education is to provide education at the basic level of all ongoing primary school pupils. This study was carried out to investigate influence of home and school based factors on pupil's academic performers at Kenya certificate of primary education in Makadara sub county, Nairobi County. The study adopted the ex post facto design which involved the studies that investigate possible causes and effects by observing an existing condition and searching back in time for possible causal factors. It involved testing out possible antecedents of events that had happened and cannot be manipulated by the investigator. The study sampled 240 teachers, 39 Parents Association members and 150 pupils from class 6 and 7. The data collection instruments comprised of questionnaires and interview guide. Data collected was categorized, coded, analyzed then tabulated. The analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS . The analysis was both qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative analysis considered use of frequency counts and distribution, tabulation totals and calculation of percentages aimed at generating the data collected into meaningful groups and frequency tables for further analysis. Qualitative analysis involved the conclusions from the respondents' opinions. The study established that most parents had a college educational level, majority of the teachers were female whereas majority of the students were males. It also established that parental level of income influenced pupils' performance in KCPE at 60 s. Physical facilities and teaching and learning resources were also cited as factors that highly influence performances. The researcher recommended that the parents should provide a conducive learning environment at home to give the pupils ample time and space to study. Parents ought to strive to provide the basic required learning materials that are vital for a good performance in the KCPE exam irrespective of their level of income. The government should endeavor to allocate funds to be used for improving on the existing teaching and learning resources in public primary schools while adding more. The government should allocate enough funds that will enable provision of key physical learning facilities. Effect of Contextual Teaching Learning Approach on Students’ Retention in Che...
The study investigated the effect of contextual teaching learning approach CTLA on chemistry students’ academic retention in secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria. A pre test, posttest quasi experimental design was used involving a sample of 130 students drawn from six education zones in the state. The instrument known as contextual learning chemistry retention test CLCRT , validated by two experts with a reliability coefficient of 0.84 was used for data collection. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while t test was used to test the null hypotheses at P 0.05. The result revealed that CTLA had significant effect on students’ academic retention in chemistry. Finding implies there is need for chemistry teachers should adopt the use of contextual teaching learning approach to improve the performance of students in chemistry. 1) The LEADERS program achieved major accomplishments in its first year, including selecting teacher leaders, enrolling them in a masters degree program, and holding a summer institute. The goal is to improve science education by linking it to renewable energy industries through project-based science.
2) Activities completed to develop teacher leaders included selecting teachers through a rigorous application process, enrolling them in a masters in education program, and designing leadership classes to fulfill degree requirements focusing on psychology of learning, research and measurement, and equity.

Addressing The Issue Of E-Learning And Online Genetics For Health Professionals

This study investigated challenges in teaching integrated science in junior high schools in Kwahu West
Municipality, Ghana. The study found that integrated science teachers viewed the scope of the integrated science
syllabus as too broad. Additionally, over half of teachers found teaching practical lessons and integrating pure
sciences and technology difficult due to the broad and diverse nature of the subject. The study recommends
regular professional development for teachers to help address the challenges.
